It is time to STOP.

It took me about a day to finally broke the silence. Enough is enough.

My feeds and walls for all social media were flooded with the unfortunate news of a teen boy stabbing a teen girl. As they are both underage, no photos of them should be on the media.

Now, it became an issue to me to see all these viral photos and videos of either the boy, girl, their family members crying or “experts” popping up all over the places. Investigations are still running yet “experts” already started mushrooming all over the places.

People starting to interprate the boy’s history. From his notes, noobies pretend as experts, singles comment as if they raise a child, people who never touched any games started commenting how games corrupted mindset, confused pretend as psychologists, keyboard warriors as forensics and school skippers commented as educationists.

Yes, it is an unfortunate news. BUT probably time to stop pretending? Come on… even experts need to use proper tools for diagnosis. It took us few sessions just to build proper rapport with clients but it took 1 single viral photo for someone to become an expert.

Think… when it is time to stop sharing… STOP.

𝓐 𝓜𝓪𝓳𝓸𝓻 𝓓𝓮𝓬𝓲𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷

It was about 10 months ago that out of the blue, I decided to take up a second master's degree while still having multiple things on my plate. I was accepted almost immediately. Honestly, it was "for fun".

Things started changing in March when my classes started. I became someone I, myself do not know. I became grumpy and I frowned a lot. The journey was not as excited as I thought. Things flying everywhere irregardless of assignments, group projects or even politics in a group as small as 5 people.

The semester ended sometime end of July and second semester was to take place in September. I lost my passion. I went into deep thoughts. Is it worth it? I spent so much already.

I could not see light. I went into deep thoughts. I could not sleep. I had flashbacks of how my life were. I was hospitalised more often than I thought.

Why would I place myself in such situation when I am preaching self-care? That would be . I took two weeks long leave to think what I needed to do and what I should've done earlier. I left.

I am much happier now. I enjoyed my work. I love my . Some said they could see me .

Sometimes, sunk cost effect might be the major factor. As long as I could just sweep the cost and put down my pride, saying might not be a bad thing. It just highlights my better and tells me where to more.

should not just be a hashtag. It should not just be a post. It never should've just been a poster. It starts from . If someone in the field were to be shaped until you cannot recognise yourself, .

In conjunction with Malaysia's National Counselling month, I am back to do what I love most.

Unpopular Opinion

This might be an unpopular opinion yet I wish to bring it to the public. There is a clear distinction between professional and advocate.

In the last 1 week, I’ve seen countless sponsored ads appearing on my wall claiming to be part of mental health providing services but upon checking, they are “advocates”.

Here’s the clear line:

Advocates are supporters and believers of an agenda while professionals are trained professionals for that field.

It is very inappropriate for someone who sells pillow and claim to be part of the field when sleep is just one of the long list of mental health. Yes, I agree on your part in helping insomnia. BUT having insomnia does not mean that they suffer from mental health issues.

Not just pillows, some are ACTUAL professionals that claimed to have a cut of the cake. Yea, you read me right. Let me cut it down to smaller chunks for you to understand.

Mental health industry consists of many different professionals handling different portfolios. We have psychiatrists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, dietitians, physiotherapists, counselling or clinical psychologists, special needs educationists, nurses etc.

But, the main people are the psychiatrists and psychologists. A person with similar experience but of different background cannot come forward to claim they are in the field and started conducting talks, giving out certificates or even provide consultations related to this.

It applies the same to us. A psychologist who is good in fitness training does not go around and tell people he is physiotherapist. A psychologist who takes good care of his diet does not go out giving diet and nutrition talks on behalf of other profession.

Let’s respect each other’s boundaries and remember the main ethics: do no harm. If you are dragging people from getting proper help with your half past six knowledge, conducting consultations with cash comes first and harm comes second, think again why you come into the servicing line. You can achieve better at corporate.

Happy Labour Day!
Today, we honor the dedication, strength, and resilience of every hardworking soul — from office desks to factory floors, from caregivers to creatives. 💪💼

But remember:
🌿 Rest is productive too.
Behind every achievement is a person who deserves balance, care, and support — mentally and emotionally.

💬 Take this day to breathe, recharge, and reflect.
Your well-being matters just as much as your work.

🖤 Grief isn’t a straight line.
The Kübler-Ross Model reminds us that there are 5 stages of grief:
1️⃣ Denial
2️⃣ Anger
3️⃣ Bargaining
4️⃣ Depression
5️⃣ Acceptance

You may not go through them in order.
You might revisit some more than once.
And that’s okay.

💬 Grief is deeply personal — there's no "right" way to feel.
💛 With support, healing is possible — one step, one breath at a time.

💥 "I didn’t mean to explode… it just happened."
Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED) is a condition marked by sudden outbursts of anger or aggression that feel out of proportion to the situation.

People with IED may:
🔸 Yell, throw things, or become physically aggressive
🔸 Regret their actions deeply after the episode
🔸 Feel embarrassed, ashamed, or confused
🔸 Struggle to explain why they “snapped”

These reactions aren’t always about the moment — they can stem from underlying emotional wounds, trauma, or difficulty managing stress.

💡 IED isn’t just a “bad temper.”
It’s a mental health issue that can improve with awareness, emotional regulation, and counseling support.

You’re not alone — seeking help is a strength, not a weakness. 💛
