一家充满烟火气息的小店。❤️

📍Yuan Fung Kopi House 源丰茶餐室, Lintas Square
(the row behind Maybank)

It was a random pick for a quick lunch, and despite being almost full house during my visit, the service was still pretty prompt.

It’s the kind of place where u will find good old comfort food. We had chu wat pork mix pork soup, Sarawak laksa nyong chap, zhu wat kon lau mee and chicken feet.

The chu wat is my favourite! Very meaty, and it really tastes like my mum’s cooking - super comforting. ❤️ The soup is light but flavourful, just like home-cooked soup. (But don’t drink the laksa first la, otherwise the pork soup will taste tasteless after la)

Their kuey teow is the thin type, which I LOVE! And the kon lau mee comes with the flat-type noodles - exactly my kind of noodles. 😍 Good that the food here is not those greasy / heavy type, it won’t make me bloated afterwards.

The Sarawak laksa is not the super kaw-kaw type, but once you add in their sambal, the taste is on point juga la. Ok passed 👌🏻

Chicken feet were the off-the-bone tender type. The flavour is quite unique. Peppery is the first taste I noticed, with dried chilli flakes and black pepper biji.

Overall, a simple, comforting kopitiam meal that hits the spot. 👌🏻

Operation hours: 6am–3pm daily

U guys been here before?

I’ve been to this place for few times but usually it’s for grocery shopping, I like their yellow skin fresh chicken parts here. This is my first time trying out their famous chicken rice and YUP sedaaaap ehh 👍🏻😍

📍Orang Utan Chicken Rice, Stop and Shop Kobusak
(Opposite the Shell petrol station, u can see it by the road side)

Other than supermarket, they also have lepak place for u to chill and makan. Other than mains, they also have XXL pizza, sweet soup, juices, egg tarts, yoghurt soft serve, herbal eggs etc.

Chicken rice is the boneless type. Texture of the chicken is very nice. And I gonna give special shout to their rice, the nasi minyak. So so good! Even just to eat on its own, I would. Nice shallot + minyak ayam smell. U gotta try it urself. I wish they could serve with ginger puree too 🤭

Kopi susu ping dia kaw kaw and sedap gila!

The sup kambing looks awesome I’m gonna come back n try that next time.

Operation hours: 9am to 10pm (but their nasi ayam serve until 7pm or while stock lasts)

(Serve no pork)

📍Kedai Makan Liang 日日食粮, Taman Suria Shoplot Penampang (near to Shiney Bakes)

Newly open. Food not bad, got wok hei, can give a try.

Pau gut wong - the sauce was delicious! I wish the cut of the meat is thicker but with this price probably I shouldn’t complain juga la 🤭 even it’s thin cut, the meat was fried nicely with lightly crispy outer and the inner part still juicy, this is real kung fu.

Hokkien mee - not bad, would be perfect with sambal.

Dry curry kuey teow - the curry was nice, the kuey teow was nice too, but to me, macam they don’t blend together well coz the kuey teow x masuk rasa curry kuah. I have already feedback to the owner juga la. Probably it’s just me being cerewet 🤭 u guys can give a try, and let me know what u think.

Oh but kuey teow really got wok hei, I guess their watanho will be nice, i have to try it next time.

Ordered also tomato fried egg and black bean Bittergourd. Ok semua passed, perfect with rice. Habis nasi 2 piring that type of dish bah tu 🤭

They also provide catering service.

They r currently on soft opening stage, service is expected to be slow. Luckily I called to place order in advance juga la, and it was a very late dinner so not crowded.

The highlight for me was definitely the grilled Mala Fish. It’s a 1.5kg deep-fried red snapper. Sadly there’s no smaller portion available. It might be a little too much for just 2 ppl, but it’s perfect for sharing among 3–4 pax without needing other side dishes.

The fish was fried really well with crispy skin, and my tip is to let it simmer in the mala broth for longer time before eating so the flavours can fully soak into the fish. It was really really good! If u like mala u need to try this. Good amount of peppercorn in the broth too 😬 but ya don’t drink the broth coz it’s very oily 🤭

We also ordered the cold dish - tofu with century egg. I actually quite impressed with this version because instead of the usual sour and spicy dressing, they use sesame oil and soy sauce, perfect sides to eat with the Mala fish though. I do wish they would add just a little bit of chilli to give it an extra kick la.

The kiu nyuk, mantou, and peanuts weren’t actually on our order - they were the staff’s meal! 😂 but I couldn’t resist asking if I could take some photos because they looked so delicious, and they kindly said yes 💁🏻‍♀️

I ragu2 mau post bah ni coz I’m already craving their mala fish again and planning to go back again soon. And I don’t want u guys to serang then I have to wait longer 😂🫣
