A successful four days course comes to a close!

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, USM successfully organised the MOG/MMED/DROBGYN Mock Clinical Exam Course 2026 from 17–20 August 2026.

The course brought together dedicated candidates, examiners and faculty members in a focused and supportive environment, providing valuable opportunities for clinical practice, constructive feedback and exam preparation.

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology USM successfully conducted the examination vetting session in preparation for the upcoming Final MOG/MMED/DROBGYN Theory Examination that will be hosted at the end of the year.

A valuable opportunity for our faculty to review, refine and ensure the quality of the examination process for our future specialists. Chaired by our Head of Department Associate Professor Dr Mohd Pazudin Ismail and joined by all lecturers at the Grand Renai Hotel this past Friday.

Honouring a Remarkable Journey –
Dr. Rahimah Abd Rahim

After decades of unwavering dedication to Universiti Sains Malaysia, this month we honour a remarkable woman whose career has been defined by compassion, excellence, and selfless service.

Dr. Rahimah has been much more than a respected obstetrician and gynaecologist. She has been a mentor who patiently nurtured generations of doctors, a teacher who inspired confidence in her students, and a colleague whose kindness, humility, and wisdom have enriched our department every single day.

Throughout her years at USM since 2011, Dr. Rahimah has witnessed and contributed to the growth of our department, helping shape not only clinical services but also the culture of learning, teamwork, and professionalism that we cherish today. Although retirement marks the end of her official service, her legacy will continue to live on in the lives she has touched, the doctors she has mentored, and the countless mothers and families who have benefited from her care.

On behalf of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Universiti Sains Malaysia, we extend our deepest gratitude for your extraordinary years of service, your unwavering commitment to excellence, and your immeasurable contributions to our department and the university.

New beginnings. New friendships.
Future leaders in Obstetrics & Gynaecology! 🌟

The MOG/DrObGyn/MMed O&G Foundation & Leadership Programme 2026 successfully brought together the newest intake of Master of Obstetrics & Gynaecology trainees from all universities for an inspiring 3-day, 2-night programme at Holiday Villa Cherating, Pahang.

Organised by the Conjoint O&G Specialty Committee, hosted by IIUM, the programme was designed to equip our future O&G specialists with more than just clinical knowledge. Through engaging leadership sessions, team-building activities, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, participants strengthened their communication, professionalism, resilience, and teamwork, the qualities that define exceptional obstetricians and gynaecologists.

To all 22 of our new MMed O&G trainees, welcome to the family! As you embark on this challenging yet rewarding path, may you continue to learn with curiosity, lead with integrity, and serve with compassion.
