💙 More Than A Home Visit
This International Nurses Day, we honour the nurses who bring paediatric palliative care beyond hospital walls and into the homes of children and families who need it most.
They travel long distances, walk difficult paths, and carry more than medical supplies — they carry comfort, courage, and hope.
In each home visit, they support symptom management, pain care, wound care, medication guidance, and medical equipment needs. They also teach parents and caregivers how to care for their child safely and confidently at home.
But their role often goes far beyond clinical care.
They listen. They comfort. They understand each family’s structure, worries, and needs. When volunteers or therapists are not available, our nurses continue to stand in the gap with compassion and care.
After each visit, the unseen work continues — cleaning equipment, updating records, preparing reports, joining multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions, coordinating care, and planning the next steps.
To our nurses: thank you for bringing comfort, dignity, and hope into every home.
Happy International Nurses Day. 💛
