Kuching City FC x MENTARI

Theme: “Kick the Stigma: Empowering Mental Health Recovery Through Sport”

In conjunction with World Mental Health Day 2025, MENTARI Sentosa & MENTARI Petrajaya, in collaboration with Kuching City Football Club (KCFC), successfully organized a special event themed “Kick the Stigma: Empowering Mental Health Recovery Through Sport.”

The event was officiated by YB Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Kuching City FC also the President of Football Association of Sarawak.

A total of 30 participants, aged between 9 and 40 years, from MENTARI Sentosa and MENTARI Petrajaya took part in a full-day football clinic led by Coach Wan Jamak, a legendary national player and Technical Director of KCFC, together with a team of experienced coaches.

Participants had the opportunity to undergo professional-level training at the Sarawak State Stadium and joined an interactive meet-and-greet session with the esteemed players of Kuching City FC. The event also received media coverage from TVS and UKAS (Unit Komunikasi Awam Sarawak).

Football was selected as the core activity for this initiative as it is Malaysia’s most beloved sport, enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds. Its universal appeal provides an ideal platform to promote inclusivity, teamwork, and mental well-being, while reducing stigma towards individuals living with mental health conditions.

This public–private partnership represents a significant step forward in advocating for inclusive sports for all, reinforcing that everyone—regardless of mental health status—deserves the opportunity to play, connect, and thrive.

Thank you Kuching City FC, Lea Sport Center & BusAsia💪🏼
