One Ambulance. A Family Bound by Love, Not Blood.
——————————————
In Kuching, there is a mother whom I affectionately call my sister.
For more than 20 years, both of her children have been living with muscular dystrophy. They depend on ventilators 24 hours a day. She has not had a full night’s sleep in years, because she can never leave her children unattended—not even for a minute.
Every time I see her bathing them, suctioning their airways, adjusting their ventilators, and caring for them with such tenderness, I am deeply moved by the incredible strength and unconditional love of a mother.
Over the past year, our society's ambulance has transported her children to and from the hospital countless times.
At first, she always called me “Boss.” One day, during a phone call, she suddenly called me “Brother.” I paused for a moment, smiled, and said, “That’s right—I am older than you. From now on, call me Brother, not Boss.”
From that day on, I gained a little sister.
Now, every time she calls me “Brother,” it fills my heart with warmth and joy.
One day, our ambulance was already out on another emergency call, but her daughter needed to go to the hospital for a follow-up appointment. Since she only needed a wheelchair, I quickly decided to drive my own Alphard to take them instead.
On the way, her daughter suddenly asked,
“If you’re my mum’s brother… does that mean I can call you Uncle?”
I smiled and replied,
“Of course you can.”
That journey was filled with laughter. For a little while, we forgot about illness and worries. That day, I gained a niece.
Helping others has not only allowed me to serve my community—it has also given me a family connected not by blood, but by kindness and compassion.
This is the greatest reward of volunteering. It is the reason that keeps me going, and it comes sincerely from the bottom of my heart.
Unfortunately, our society currently has only one ambulance, and it is simply not enough.
There are many more families in Kuching just like my little sister’s—waiting anxiously late at night, hoping an ambulance will arrive in time. Our phone rings every day, and our ambulance is constantly on the road, but there are still calls we cannot answer and people we cannot reach in time.
That is why we are raising funds to purchase one or two additional ambulances.
Each ambulance costs approximately RM170,000.
It is a large amount—but a human life is worth far more.
If you are able to contribute:
❤️ Donations of RM10,000 or more
Your company name or logo will be proudly displayed on the ambulance as a lasting symbol of your generosity, travelling with us to every person in need.
❤️ Every donation matters
Whether it is RM10, RM50, or any amount, we treasure it deeply. There is no such thing as a small act of kindness. The cost of a cup of coffee could help bring someone safely to the hospital—or home.
