FLAG OFF PROGRAM LEARNING AND EDUCATION IN THE AREA OF REHABILITATION AND NURTURING (LEARN)

On 8 June 2026, Bidadari Retreat Care Centre proudly marked the launch of the LEARN Programme, a collaborative initiative between Bidadari Retreat Care Centre, Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi (PPKI) SMK Kedawang and Langkawi Tourism Academy @ Kolej Komuniti Langkawi (LTA), with the support of the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Langkawi.

The programme, which runs from 8 June until 8 July 2026, aims to provide students with meaningful learning opportunities through a combination of classroom education, practical exposure and hands-on experience. Participants will undergo sessions at LTA before continuing their practical placement at Bidadari Retreat Care Centre, where they will gain valuable insight into caregiving, teamwork, communication, and workplace skills.

We were honoured to have the Flag Off Ceremony officiated by Puan Rohana binti Sahak, Director of Langkawi Tourism Academy @ Kolej Komuniti Langkawi.

Also present were Cik Ellysha Aiman, Co-Founder of Bidadari Retreat Care Centre, Puan Nas Ida Leyna binti Yusof, Deputy Director (Management) of LTA, Puan Nor Maizura binti Ibrahim, Deputy Director (Academic) of LTA, Encik Nor Asfarul Lail Azri bin Haris, Director of the LEARN Programme and Amanah Account Coordinator of LTA and Cikgu Robani of PPKI SMK Kedawang, whose dedication and support have been instrumental in bringing this programme to life.

Bidadari Retreat Care Centre would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all partners, educators, parents, and supporters involved in making this initiative possible. Together, we hope to create a platform where every student is empowered to discover their strengths, build confidence and prepare for a brighter future.

28th April 2026 marks the signing of a shared commitment to nurture inclusion, dignity, and opportunity through the Bidadari Retreat Bridging Program.

April 12th, 2026.

At the Wizz Air Milano Marathon, Bidadari Retreat was represented by Ellysha Aiman, who completed her first full marathon in 5:52:54, her first time running this distance, after months of quiet training and learning what endurance really feels like.

And then there was this moment that stayed with us.

A 90-year-old runner, Giuseppe Damato, crossed the finish line in 4:30:30.
More than an hour faster.
With almost seven decades between them.

It made us smile and think.

At Bidadari, this is how we see ageing.
Not as something that automatically slows you down,
but something shaped by how you live, move and care for yourself over time.
Speed changes. Bodies change.
But strength doesn’t disappear, it adapts.

Ellysha’s run mattered.
Giuseppe’s run mattered.
Together, they reminded us that ageing isn’t about comparison,
it’s about continuity.

How we live today quietly shows up later.
