1. Advancing TB Diagnostics by 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘄𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆:

𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆: Shifting toward rapid molecular testing at the first point of contact for simultaneous TB and drug resistance detection.

𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗡𝗛 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: With local data showing Isoniazid (INH) resistance is more prevalent than Rifampicin, upfront diagnostic stewardship is critical to preventing treatment failure and multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB).

2. Genetics in Cardiac Care by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘂𝗮, 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗟𝗦𝗚 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸: Inherited cardiac conditions affect 1 in 100 people and are often understudied in Southeast Asia, increasing the risk of undiagnosed complications or sudden death.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Genetic testing covering familial hypercholesterolemia, heart muscle diseases, and arrhythmias enables early detection, guided treatment, and proactive family screening.

This event, successfully co-organised by Innoquest and Jesselton Medical Centre (JMC) also brought together a diverse panel of experts:

▪ Dr. Frederick Chuo, Jesselton Medical Centre (JMC): Management of common a**l diseases, focusing on peria**l abscess and fistula.

Prostate cancer is often called a "𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿" because it typically shows no symptoms in its early stages. In Malaysia, nearly 𝟲𝟯% of cases are diagnosed only at advanced stages.

Standard prostate cancer screening tests are a great first step, but they don't always tell the whole story. That’s where the Prostate Health Index (𝙥𝙝𝙞) comes in.

We showcased our 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗸, 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗽 𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗵𝗮𝘁 screening profiles, from the 𝗜𝗤𝗠𝗬𝟭–𝟰 panels (basic to premium panels incorporating new biomarkers 𝗟𝗽(𝗮) and 𝘂𝗔𝗖𝗥) and gender-specific health profiles, to our geriatric assessments, alongside 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧-𝗠𝗔𝗦, our multi-cancer early detection test covering 10 cancer signals before symptoms appear.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗹𝘆. 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁

Most liver conditions develop without warning signs. By the time symptoms appear, damage is often already advanced. What starts as silent inflammation can progress to cirrhosis (scarring of the liver), and in some patients, cirrhosis is the gateway to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common form of liver cancer.

The good news? This progression is not inevitable, if caught early.

In conjunction with World Liver Day this weekend, Innoquest has recently introduced the GAAD Risk Score, a smarter way to identify who is at higher risk of HCC before it develops. GAAD uses four markers — Gender, Age, AFP, and DCP to determine your risk and flag whether an imaging follow-up is needed.
