Heavy menstrual bleeding isn't normal, and it could be a sign of uterine fibroids.

A 32-year-old woman had been planning her life around heavy periods, constant fatigue, and iron deficiency for years. She thought it was something she simply had to live with.

An ultrasound later revealed uterine fibroids, the underlying cause of her symptoms.

She underwent a laparoscopic myomectomy, a procedure that removed the fibroids while preserving her uterus. While every woman's recovery is different, treating the root cause can significantly improve quality of life and help relieve symptoms that have been overlooked for years.

If heavy menstrual bleeding is disrupting your daily life, don't ignore it. An early assessment can help identify the cause and guide the right treatment.

Can fibroids affect your chances of getting pregnant? It depends on their location.

Not all fibroids affect fertility the same way. Fibroids inside the uterine cavity (submucosal fibroids) are more likely to interfere with implantation and pregnancy. In contrast, fibroids on the outer wall of the uterus often don't affect fertility and may simply be monitored.

When planning a pregnancy, the location of a fibroid is often more important than its size. A detailed ultrasound or fertility assessment can help determine whether treatment is needed before trying to conceive.

If you've been diagnosed with fibroids and are planning a pregnancy, getting them properly evaluated can help you make informed decisions about your fertility journey.

PMOS can affect women of any weight, not just those who are overweight.

Many women believe PCOS only affects those who are overweight. In reality, lean PCOS is common and often goes unnoticed.

You can have a normal BMI and still experience insulin resistance, hormonal imbalance, and ovulation problems that affect your menstrual cycle and fertility.

If your periods are irregular, unpredictable, or you've been trying to conceive without success, don't let your weight give false reassurance. PCOS cannot be diagnosed, or ruled out, by appearance alone.

A proper hormonal assessment can identify the underlying cause and help you receive the right treatment early.

Many women believe endometriosis always causes severe period pain. But that’s not always true.

Some women have no pain at all, and the condition is only discovered during fertility investigations.

Not every case of endometriosis presents with pain. For some women, difficulty conceiving may be the only sign. That’s why unexplained infertility should always be thoroughly assessed before planning fertility treatment.

Early diagnosis helps your fertility specialist understand the underlying cause and create a treatment plan that gives you the best possible chance of pregnancy.

If you’ve been trying to conceive without success, don’t ignore it, even if you feel completely well. A comprehensive fertility assessment can make all the difference.

Two different conditions. Often confused for one another.

Endometriosis happens when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or pelvic lining.

Adenomyosis is different. The tissue grows directly into the muscular wall of the uterus itself.

Both can cause heavy bleeding and severe pain. Both are frequently overlooked because period pain is so often dismissed as normal.

And a woman can be living with both conditions at once, which makes an accurate diagnosis even more important.

Painful, heavy periods that disrupt your daily life are not something to just push through.

Speak to a specialist and get it properly assessed.

PMOS. Formerly known as PCOS.

The name changed because the condition was never just about the ovaries.

It affects hormones, metabolism, and reproductive health together, which is why one test can never tell the full story.

Here’s what a real workup actually looks at:

Cycle history — because irregular or absent ovulation is a core marker.

A hormone panel — androgens and insulin, since both play a direct role.

AMH and antral follicle count — an ultrasound look at ovarian activity.

Thyroid and metabolic screening — to rule out other causes and check related risk.

Four investigations. One complete hormonal picture.

If your periods are irregular or something feels off, don’t guess.

Speak to a specialist and ask about a PMOS evaluation.

Painful periods? “That is normal.”

Pelvic pain during intimacy? “That is just how it is.”

Bloating that comes and goes? “Probably stress.”

It is not normal. It is not just how it is.

Endometriosis is tissue growing where it should not be. And every cycle, that tissue bleeds with nowhere to go.

Over time it creates inflammation. Scar tissue. Adhesions around the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

This is why it affects fertility.

Not because something is permanently broken. But because the longer it goes undetected, the more it silently damages the environment your body needs to conceive.

Early assessment changes outcomes.

If you have been living with pain that everyone told you was normal, speak to a specialist. Your symptoms deserve a real answer.

An ovarian cyst before IVF does not automatically mean your treatment is delayed or cancelled.

But most women don’t know that.

They hear “cyst” and assume the worst before even speaking to a specialist.

Understanding what type of cyst it is, its size, and how it behaves matters more than the finding itself.

If you or someone you know is preparing for IVF, watch this before drawing any conclusions.

Every month you hope.

Every month you wait.

And every month the answer breaks something inside you a little more.

But here is what no one tells you.

Infertility is not a sign that something is wrong with you as a person.

It is a medical condition. With real causes. And real answers worth exploring.

Sometimes it is ovulation. Sometimes it is s***m. Sometimes it is endometriosis. Sometimes it is age.

A diagnosis is not a verdict. It is a starting point.

DM the word FERTILITY and I will share some helpful information to get you started.

Trying for a baby can feel overwhelming… especially when it doesn’t happen as expected 🤍

Not conceiving naturally does not automatically mean IVF is required. Fertility challenges can have many causes, including ovulation issues, hormonal imbalances, s***m factors, or timing-related concerns.

That’s why proper evaluation is important.

In some cases, simple treatments like medications or lifestyle adjustments may be enough.

For others, procedures like IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) may be recommended.

And in certain situations, IVF or ICSI may be the most appropriate option.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

The right treatment depends on understanding the underlying cause, and creating a plan that is tailored to each couple.

If you’re unsure about your next step, starting with the right guidance can make all the difference.
