"My baby's growth is normal."

"So why does my doctor want a Doppler Scan?" πŸ€”

This is a very common question during pregnancy.

Many mothers think:

πŸ‘Ά Baby weight normal = Everything is okay

But that's not always the full picture.

A Growth Scan tells us how your baby is growing.

A Doppler Scan helps us assess whether your baby is receiving enough oxygen and nutrients through the placenta.

Think of it this way:

πŸ“ Growth Scan = How big is the baby?

🩸 Doppler Scan = How well is the baby's supply line working?

That's why some mothers may be advised to have a Doppler Scan even when their baby's growth appears normal.

Watch the video to learn the difference and understand why your doctor may recommend both scans during pregnancy.

"My Growth Scan was normal."

"So why does my doctor want another one?" πŸ€”

This is one of the most common questions pregnant mothers ask.

Many people assume that if a Growth Scan is normal, everything will remain normal until delivery.

Unfortunately, pregnancy doesn't work that way.

A Growth Scan is like taking a photograph πŸ“Έ

It tells us what is happening at that particular moment.

Over the next few weeks:

πŸ‘Ά Baby growth can slow down
πŸ’§ Amniotic fluid levels can change
🩸 Blood flow patterns can change
🌸 Placenta function can change

That's why some mothers are advised to repeat a Growth Scan later in pregnancy.

A repeat scan doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem.

Often, it simply means your doctor wants to make sure your baby continues to grow well right up until delivery ❀️

Watch the full video to learn why one normal Growth Scan may not always be enough.

πŸ‘Ά "My Detail Scan was normal. So I don't need NIPT anymore, right?"

Not necessarily.

A Detail Scan and NIPT are actually looking for different things.

πŸ” Detail Scan
Looks at your baby's physical development:
βœ… Brain
βœ… Heart
βœ… Spine
βœ… Face
βœ… Kidneys
βœ… Hands and feet

🧬 NIPT
Looks at your baby's chromosomes:
βœ… Down Syndrome (Trisomy 21)
βœ… Trisomy 18
βœ… Trisomy 13
and other selected chromosomal conditions.

Here's the important part:

A baby with Down syndrome can sometimes have obvious ultrasound findings.

But some babies with Down syndrome may have a completely normal Detail Scan.

That means:

❌ Normal Detail Scan does NOT guarantee your baby does not have Down syndrome.

If your main concern is screening for Down syndrome, NIPT remains significantly more accurate than ultrasound alone.

The best test depends on:
βœ” Your age
βœ” Your risk factors
βœ” Your budget
βœ” How much reassurance you would like during pregnancy

Watch this video as Dr Hazel explains when a normal Detail Scan is enough and when NIPT may still be beneficial.

πŸ’¬ Have you ever wondered whether you should do both tests? Let us know in the comments.

πŸ‘Ά "My detailed scan is normal. That means my baby definitely doesn't have Down syndrome, right?"

Not necessarily.

This is one of the most common misconceptions we hear during pregnancy.

A detailed scan is excellent for checking your baby's anatomy and growth. It can sometimes identify ultrasound markers associated with Down syndrome.

However, a completely normal detailed scan cannot guarantee that a baby does not have Down syndrome.

So what is the difference between a detailed scan and NIPT?

Which test is more accurate?

And do you still need NIPT if your detailed scan looks normal?

In this video, Dr Hazel explains:
βœ… What a detailed scan can detect
βœ… What it cannot detect
βœ… Why some babies with Down syndrome have normal scans
βœ… Detailed Scan vs NIPT
βœ… How to choose the right screening approach for your pregnancy

⚠️ HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE DURING PREGNANCY CAN KILL

Most mothers don't expect a blood pressure reading to become a life-threatening emergency.

But hypertension in pregnancy can lead to serious complications affecting both mother and baby, including pre-eclampsia, premature delivery, seizures, stroke, and even death if left untreated.

What makes it especially dangerous is that many women have few symptomsβ€”or no symptoms at all.

The good news?

Early detection, regular antenatal check-ups, and proper medical care can dramatically reduce these risks.

In this video, Dr Hazel explains:

βœ… What hypertension in pregnancy really means
βœ… Warning signs you should never ignore
βœ… Risks to mother and baby
βœ… When to seek urgent medical attention
βœ… How proper monitoring can save lives

Watch until the end and share this with someone who is pregnant. This information could make a real difference.

Trying to get pregnant but still not successful? πŸ₯Ί

One important fertility test is checking whether your fallopian tubes are open.

At MediHope Clinic, we offer HyFoSy β€” a newer alternative to HSG that is:

✨ Less painful
✨ No radiation
✨ Faster results
✨ More accurate assessment of tube patency

During the procedure, special contrast bubbles are gently passed through the uterus and fallopian tubes while we scan using ultrasound.

When we see the contrast spilling from both sides, it means the tubes are open and natural pregnancy is possible ❀️

Many women delay fertility treatment because they are afraid of painful tests.
HyFoSy is designed to be more comfortable while giving immediate answers.

If you have been trying to conceive, this investigation may help identify hidden fertility issues earlier.
