Healingwound Association Stands with the Bezuidenhout Family – Bring Erwin Home
Healingwound Association (HWA) stands in full solidarity with the Bezuidenhout family, WOMESA Namibia, the search and rescue teams, volunteers, and every Namibian who believes that no family should be denied the opportunity to bring their loved one home.
As an organization dedicated to mental health, psychosocial support, trauma recovery, and human dignity, we know that unresolved loss can leave deep emotional wounds that may endure for years. While nothing can erase the pain of losing a child, every reasonable effort should be made to help a grieving family find closure.
We therefore respectfully but firmly support the call for the search and recovery operation for Erwin Bezuidenhout to continue, in accordance with the law and through the cooperation of all relevant authorities and stakeholders. We appeal for every lawful avenue to be explored so that the search may proceed safely and compassionately.
This moment is bigger than one family. It is about the values we uphold as a nation. It is about compassion, human dignity, and our collective responsibility to stand with those who are hurting.
We call upon:
- Government institutions and relevant authorities to work collaboratively and urgently within their legal mandates.
- Property owners and all stakeholders to support every lawful effort that may assist in the recovery mission.
- Civil society organizations, churches, community leaders, businesses, and every compassionate Namibian to stand together in peaceful solidarity and lend their voices to this call.
Let us be remembered as a nation that chose compassion over convenience, unity over silence, and humanity over indifference.
To the Bezuidenhout family: You are not alone. Your pain is our pain. We stand with you, we pray with you, and we continue to hope with you.
Bring Erwin home.
