Men's Health Month Motivation
"Strong Men Take Care of Their Health"
Men's Health Month is a reminder that true strength is not only measured by hard work, endurance, or providing for others—it is also shown by taking care of your body, mind, and spirit.
Your health is one of God's gifts. Looking after it enables you to serve your family, fulfill your purpose, and enjoy the life God has given you.
This month, make a commitment to:
Exercise regularly.
Eat healthy foods.
Get enough rest.
Schedule medical check-ups.
Talk about your mental and emotional well-being.
Spend time in prayer and God's Word.
Remember, prevention is better than cure. A healthy man is better equipped to lead, love, serve, and inspire others.
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?" — 1 Corinthians 6:19
Men, your health matters. Your family needs you. Your community needs you. God has a purpose for your life—take care of yourself so you can fulfill it.
Men's Health Month June 2026 "Invest in your health today for a stronger tomorrow."

07/06/2026

June is Men's Health Awareness Month, and at the Cancer Association of Namibia, we take this month seriously because men's health is about so much more than cancer.

While prostate cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Namibian men, many men are also facing challenges such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, stress, depression, and other mental health concerns. These conditions are often linked to lifestyle factors and, when left unmanaged, can have a profound impact on quality of life and life expectancy.

There is also a cultural reality we cannot ignore.
For generations, many men have been taught to be strong, to carry their burdens silently, to avoid showing emotion, and not to ask for help. Yet behind the strong exterior, many men struggle alone. Too often, they reach a point of crisis before seeking support.

This June, we call on all Namibians to take a holistic approach to men's health.

✔ Know your numbers – blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and weight.
✔ Be physically active.
✔ Eat a balanced diet.
✔ Prioritise mental wellbeing.
✔ Speak openly when you are struggling.
✔ Support the men in your life.
✔ And yes, get screened for prostate cancer.

A healthy nation needs healthy men – fathers, sons, brothers, husbands, colleagues, and friends.

This Men's Health Awareness Month, let's change the conversation from simply treating illness to actively promoting wellness, prevention, and early detection.
Your health matters. Your wellbeing matters. And asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Devotion: Exodus 1:15
“The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives… ‘When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth… if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.’”
This verse introduces a dark moment in Israel’s history. Pharaoh, driven by fear and control, issues a cruel command to stop the growth of God’s people. It’s a reminder that fear often leads to oppression and injustice when people try to protect their power at all costs.
But what stands out in this passage is not just Pharaoh’s command—it’s the quiet courage that follows. The Hebrew midwives, though under authority, chose to fear God more than man. They refused to carry out evil, preserving life instead of destroying it.
Key Reflection: There will be moments when you are pressured—by authority, culture, or circumstances—to compromise what is right. Like the midwives, you may not always have power or position, but you always have a choice.
What this teaches us:
God honors those who stand for righteousness, even in difficult situations.
Courage doesn’t always look loud—it can be quiet obedience.
Fear of God should outweigh fear of people.
Application: Where are you being pressured to go against your values? It might be at work, in business, or even among friends. Ask God for the strength to stand firm, even if it’s uncomfortable.
Prayer: Lord, give me the courage to stand for what is right, even when it’s difficult. Help me to fear You above all else and to walk in obedience. Strengthen my heart to choose integrity over compromise. Amen.

📖 Book of Judges 6:12 Devotional
“The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he wasn’t standing on a battlefield — he was hiding in a winepress, threshing wheat in fear. Israel was oppressed by the Midianites, and Gideon felt small, weak, and insignificant.
Yet God called him “mighty warrior.”
This shows us something powerful:
God doesn’t speak to who we are in fear — He speaks to who we are in purpose.
Gideon saw himself as the least in his family.
God saw a deliverer.
You may feel overlooked, underqualified, or overwhelmed — especially as a man carrying spiritual, mental, and physical responsibilities. But God’s presence changes identity. The key words in this verse are not “mighty warrior” — they are “The Lord is with you.”
His presence makes the difference.
🔥 Reflection for Today:
Stop defining yourself by your current struggle.
Start believing what God calls you.
Courage begins when you realize you are not alone.
Even in the winepress seasons of life, God sees the warrior in you.
Prayer:
Lord, help me see myself the way You see me. Give me courage to rise from fear into purpose. Amen.
