Pancytosis is a rare hematologic condition characterized by an elevated count of all three peripheral blood cell lines, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It is often associated with myeloproliferative neoplasms, such as Polycythemia Vera, where the bone marrow produces excessive blood cells. It is not a disease itself, but a manifestation of underlying bone marrow stimulation.
Pancytosis often leads to hyperviscosity (thick blood), which can result in symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, or thrombohemorrhagic complications.
