DAY 7 — PRAY, BUT ALSO PAY ATTENTION

Prayer is essential when choosing a life partner, but prayer should not replace careful observation.

God may guide you, but you must still examine character, values, emotional maturity, family expectations and readiness for commitment.

“The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.” — Proverbs 14:15

Pray with faith. Observe with wisdom. Decide responsibly.

What is one important lesson you have learnt about relationships?

DAY 6 — HEALTHY BOUNDARIES PROTECT LOVE

Boundaries are not punishment. They are clear statements about what is acceptable and what is not.

A person who genuinely respects you may not always agree with your boundaries, but they should not repeatedly pressure you to violate them.

Anyone who needs you to abandon your values to keep the relationship is asking for too much.

Protect your peace, faith, dignity and future.

DAY 5 — MARRIAGE DOES NOT CHANGE CHARACTER

Marriage does not automatically make a dishonest person truthful, an irresponsible person responsible or an abusive person gentle.

It often magnifies what was already present during courtship.

Do not marry potential while continually ignoring present behaviour.

Pray, observe, ask difficult questions and pay attention to how the person handles correction, money, anger and responsibility.

DAY 4 — STOP TRYING TO FORCE RECIPROCITY

You should not have to beg continually for basic communication, respect, honesty or effort.

A healthy relationship may require patience and adjustment, but it should not leave one person doing all the pursuing, apologising and sacrificing.

Where there is genuine interest, there will usually be visible effort.

Do not lose yourself trying to convince someone to value you.

DAY 3 — DO NOT IGNORE CONSISTENT RED FLAGS

One mistake may be corrected. But a repeated pattern should not be continually excused.

If someone repeatedly lies, manipulates, disrespects your boundaries or refuses accountability, do not call it “a small weakness.”

Pay attention to patterns. Patterns often reveal what promises try to hide.

Love with your heart, but make decisions with wisdom.

DAY 2 — COMMUNICATION IS MORE THAN TALKING

Good communication is not about who talks the loudest or explains the longest.

It is about listening to understand, speaking with respect and creating room for both people to be heard.

You cannot build emotional closeness when every conversation becomes a competition.

Learn to discuss the problem without attacking the person.

DAY 1 — LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH

Love is important, but love alone cannot sustain a relationship.

A lasting relationship also needs honesty, respect, emotional maturity, shared values, responsibility and commitment.

Do not only ask, “Do we love each other?” Ask, “Do we have what it takes to build a peaceful future together?”

What else do you believe a relationship needs apart from love?
