FITHAEI Team Pays Congratulatory Visit to BOT Member, Hon. John Daniel Tukura

Earlier today, the Management and members of the 1st FCT Indigenous Talent Hunt & Art Exhibition Initiative (FITHAEI) paid a congratulatory courtesy visit to one of its esteemed Board of Trustees (BOT) members, Hon. John Daniel Tukura at his residence in kubwa, following his appointment as the Chief of Staff, Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The visit was led by the Chief Operating Officer of FITHAEI, Comr. Peter Haggai alongside the legal advisor Barr. James Babel Luka and members of the organization's leadership, to celebrate this well deserved appointment and express the organization's heartfelt congratulations.

During the visit, the FITHAEI delegation commended Hon. Tukura for his unwavering commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and public service. The team expressed confidence that his wealth of experience, leadership, and dedication would greatly contribute to the growth and progress of Bwari Area Council and the FCT at large.

In his response, Hon. John Daniel Tukura thanked the FITHAEI family for the thoughtful gesture and appreciated the organization for its continuous efforts in empowering youths, promoting indigenous talents, and implementing impactful community development initiatives across the Federal Capital Territory. He encouraged the organization to remain steadfast in its mission of transforming lives through empowerment, education, and strategic partnerships.

The visit further strengthened the cordial relationship between FITHAEI and its Board of Trustees, reaffirming the organization's commitment to working closely with leaders and stakeholders who share its vision of building empowered youths and sustainable communities.

FITHAEI Marks the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (World Drug Day)

Every year on 26th June, the world observes the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day, to raise awareness about the devastating effects of drug abuse and the dangers of illicit drug trafficking on individuals, families, and communities.

As an organization committed to youth empowerment, community development, and social wellbeing, the 1st FCT Indigenous Talent Hunt & Art Exhibition Initiative (FITHAEI) joins the global community in advocating for a drug-free society and promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.

Drug abuse remains one of the greatest threats to the future of our youths. It destroys dreams, affects physical and mental health, fuels crime and insecurity, weakens families, and limits the potential of individuals to contribute meaningfully to society. Many young people fall into substance abuse due to peer pressure, lack of awareness, unemployment, depression, and negative social influences.

At FITHAEI, we believe that empowering young people through education, mentorship, skills acquisition, talent development, and positive engagement is one of the most effective ways to prevent drug abuse and related social problems. When youths are equipped with knowledge, opportunities, and purpose, they are more likely to make responsible decisions and become productive members of society.

On this World Drug Day, we call on:

Parents and guardians to maintain open communication with their children.

FITHAEI Alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The activities and programs of the 1st FCT Indigenous Talent Hunt & Art Exhibition Initiative (FITHAEI) directly contribute to the achievement of key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through youth empowerment, education, cultural preservation, and community development initiatives.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

FITHAEI promotes decent work and sustainable economic growth by providing free vocational and entrepreneurial training for youths in areas such as fashion design, graphics design, shoe making, hair styling, cake baking, and solar installation.

Through practical skills acquisition, mentorship, and empowerment programs, the organization equips young people with employable and income-generating skills that enhance self-reliance, reduce youth unemployment, and encourage entrepreneurship within local communities.

By connecting talents to opportunities and promoting productive engagement among youths, FITHAEI contributes to inclusive economic growth and sustainable livelihoods.
