The recently concluded primaries within the APC once again exposed a deeper problem in our society — the gradual loss of values in leadership and public life.

From allegations of manipulated delegate figures and questionable counting processes to the overwhelming influence of power and political loyalty, many Nigerians were left asking: Is democracy still about the people, or only about political interests?

The danger of a society without values is not only failed politics, but a failed generation. Our children are watching. When they constantly see dishonesty, intimidation, manipulation, and desperation rewarded in leadership spaces, they begin to believe that integrity no longer matters.

A nation cannot teach children honesty while rewarding deception in public life. We cannot preach hard work while celebrating unfairness and abuse of power.

If we continue to normalize politics without accountability, we risk raising a generation that sees character as weakness and manipulation as wisdom.

Nigeria does not only need political reforms; Nigeria desperately needs value reorientation.

The future of our country depends not just on who leads us, but on the values we choose to protect.

One of the most impactful moments during the session was the interactive activity with the students.

Questions were asked, and the students responded with honesty, confidence, and deep reflection. Their answers revealed young minds that are thinking, observing, and truly longing for positive change in society.

It was a reminder that many young people are ready to embrace better values when given the right guidance and opportunity.
