WHY AM I PEEING MORE DURING THIS COLD WEATHER? 😂🚽
You drink water — you p*e.
You eat — you p*e.
You just sat down — you feel like p*eing again! 😂
Then you start wondering:
“Abeg, what is happening to me? Is my kidney failing, or have I developed a kidney problem?” 😭😂
Relax! If you've noticed that you're urinating more often during this cold and rainy weather, the cold may actually be contributing to it.
When the weather is cold, you may sweat less. Your body also responds to the cold by shifting more blood toward your inner body, and this can encourage your kidneys to get rid of some extra water through urine.
So yes, cold weather can make some people p*e more. 🚽😂
However, not every case of frequent urination is because of cold weather. A sudden increase in the need to urinate can sometimes be a symptom of conditions that require medical assessment, such as a urinary tract infection (UTI) or diabetes.
Please speak with a doctor if the frequent urination continues, especially if you also experience:
🔥 Burning or pain when urinating
🌡️ Fever
🩸 Blood in your urine
💧 Unusual or excessive thirst
⚖️ Unexplained weight loss
👀 Blurry vision
And if you're waking up several times every night to urinate, don't simply assume it's because of the cold weather.
Your kidneys are doing their job. Just make sure you're not ignoring them when they're trying to tell you something. ❤️
Has the cold weather also turned you into a frequent visitor at the toilet? 😂👇🏽
When did you notice the frequent urination?
How many times a day are you urinating?
Are you also experiencing increased thirst, pain when urinating, or blurry vision?
