I find it difficult to understand how a woman in active labour can present to the hospital and completely refuse a v@ginal examination.
A v@ginal examination is not done to violate a patient's dignity or privacy.
V@ginal examination during labour is a valuable clinical tool for assessing labour progress and ensuring safe management.
Of course, every patient has the right to consent or refuse a procedure. However, refusing a key examination during labour can make it challenging for the medical team to accurately assess how labour is progressing and provide the best possible care.
It's also important to note that v@ginal examinations are generally not required for women coming for an elective Caesarean section, where labour progress is not being monitored. πβοΈ
