Prostate is not a disease or ailment but a small muscular, walnut seized gland in the male reproductive system located under bladder and next to the re**um, it's infact present at birth of every male child but start to enlarge at the age of 25. It help produces fluid that helps transport s***m and keeps them safe. It's also a muscle driving switch between urination and ej*******on.
But when there's a disorder of this prostate gland, it then become a disease, infection or ailment called PROSTATITIS .If the infection is cancerous, we can now call it prostate cancer.
Let's quickly discuss what Prostatitis is;
Prostatitis is a disorder of the prostate gland that is often associated with inflammation and can cause painful and difficult urination and also cause pain in pelvic area or ge***al it's more common in men over 50years of age.
What are the causes; ▶️ Bacterial Prostatitis is caused by Bacteria infections often caused by E. Coli or other bacteria that normally live in the urinary tract.
▶️Non-bacterial prostatitis, This type is not caused by Bacteria but by;
⏩ Hormonal changes
⏩ Inflammation or irritation of the prostate gland
⏩ Pelvic floor muscle tension
⏩ Nerve damage
⏩ Inflammation of the urethra from (STI).
Sign and symptoms;
⏸️ Painful or difficult urination
⏸️ Pain in the pelvic, groin or ge***als
⏸️Cloudy or bloody urine
⏸️ Painful Ej*******on
⏸️Frequent urination
⏸️Pain in the lower back or re**um
⏸️ Blood in the semen or urine
NOTE :
Most men with this infection may not have serious symptoms, but if you are experiencing any of these, it may even be very mild, please quickly go and see your health care providers for proper diagnosis.
Management and Treatment;
This is depends on the underlying cause and severity of the condition, At times they use Antibiotics, Alpha -blocker, Pain relief medication, Anti-inflammatory medication, Heating treatment and so on and so forth, surgery may even required.
