FASTING AND USE OF EYE DROPS:

During fasting, using eye drops is generally considered permissible by most Islamic scholars and does not break the fast, as they are not considered food or drink.

Why Eye Drops Don't Break the Fast:
Eye drops are not considered an "agent of consequence" (meaning a substance with nutritional or medicinal benefit) that reaches the throat, stomach, intestines, or any cavity with a pathway and settles there, which is the criteria for breaking a fast.

Addressing Concerns:
Some Muslims worry that eye drops might break the fast if the excess drop drains down the back of the throat and can be tasted. To reduce this risk, you can:
Press on the corner of your eye next to your nose: immediately after putting in your drops.
Use your drops between Iftar and Suhoor: (the evening meal to break the fast and the pre-dawn meal).

It's vital to continue with your prescribed eye care routine during Ramadan, as stopping medication can be dangerous, especially for conditions like glaucoma.
