DAY 235: Leadership Is Service
Scripture:
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” - Matthew 20:26
Reflection:
Leadership is often measured by authority, recognition, or control, but God defines it differently. In God’s economy, leadership is expressed through service; through responsibility that considers others, not self-promotion. This redefinition can feel challenging, especially if leadership once felt tied to power or validation.
Service, however, is not self-neglect. True service flows from wholeness, not depletion. When leadership becomes service, you are no longer trying to secure your place or prove your worth. You are focused on impact; on what builds others up and supports collective growth.
God’s model of leadership prioritises people over position. It asks you to listen before directing, to care before commanding, and to lead with humility rather than dominance. This kind of leadership creates trust and longevity. People feel valued, not managed.
Healing clarifies this distinction. You learn to serve without losing yourself and to lead without ego. Leadership as service becomes sustainable because it is rooted in love, not pressure. God is shaping you into a leader whose influence flows through care, wisdom, and grounded presence.
Prayer:
God, teach me to lead through service. Help me serve with humility, clarity, and healthy boundaries, reflecting Your heart in all I do. Amen.
Affirmation:
Leadership is service. I lead with humility, care, and purpose.
