“I did this test last year. Why do I need to do it again?”
Because your health is not a photograph. It's a moving picture.
A test result from last year describes information from that particular point in time.
Depending on your condition, treatment, symptoms, risk factors or your doctor's clinical question, repeating a test may be appropriate to monitor changes or assess response to treatment.
So when your doctor requests a test you've done before, don't immediately assume, “They're just collecting money.”
The question being asked today is different from the question that was being asked months ago.
If your healthcare provider recommends repeat testing, ask them what they're monitoring and why.
When you need reliable laboratory testing, JD-Xcel Medical Laboratory Services is committed to providing timely and accurate results.
