Formally introducing Ember (Calypso) puppies!
This morning, Ember delivered 9 beautiful healthy puppies in just 3 short hours. She is such a great brood and I am so proud of her! She and Glen knocked it out of the park with this gorgeous bunch. Our final tally was 2 females and 7 males. 3 of which are merles, 5 lovely classic black and whites, and 1 surprise sable.
These next weeks I so look forward to spending nurturing these angels and helping them grow into their best selves. And of course sharing them with all of you as we go! The first week is mostly about making sure everyone, including mom, is happy and healthy. I also begin ENS (early neurological stimulation) and ESI (early scent introduction).
So without further ado, this is the Calypso litter. I'll post their individual photos and names during the week.

Ember goes into the vet today for an x-ray to hopefully count her pups!
I usually don't bother with x-rays because the ones I've done in the past have been so inconclusive and poor in quality that you couldn't count pups at all, even at 55+ days. But I haven't tried to have it done at this new to us clinic we've been going to and l like their practice, so I have high hopes! Ember is also a sweet easy going lady who loves going for doctor's visits so it isn't any undue stress on her.
Avoiding maternal distress during pregnancy is extremely important. Puppies born to mothers who experienced distress during pregnancy are more stressed themselves as newborns and these negative effects can even last into adulthood, leading to dogs who aren't as confident. And on the flip side, increasing mother's eustress during pregnancy is beneficial to her and her babies!
So by avoiding allowing our dams to have negative experiences and increasing their positive experiences and happy hormones, we are already setting the puppies up for success while they are in utero.

My puppies are raised with Early Neurological Stimulation
(ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), Puppy Culture, and my own brand of enrichment and training which I have been refining over the years. Pups are well-started on potty training, crate training, leash training, clicker training, resource guarding prevention, the concept of operant conditioning and will have an established training relationship with humans. They are socialized to many different people and animals. Puppies come with included private lessons up to 6 months old, a thorough health guarantee, are from health tested parents, and of course, lifetime breeder support and answers to any and all of your questions.

I'm so excited to meet the upcoming puppies and see who they become! Ember is bigger than she was last time so I'm expecting a large litter.

So happy to announce that Ember (Merle) is pregnant, carrying puppies from the lovely Glen (Black and White).
Glen is a Scottish sheepdog import with a lot of herding accomplishments under his belt! He's equally wonderful on ducks, sheep and cattle. His owner is a great herding trainer with a ton of experience with dogs and she says Glen is something really special. He has a few litters on the ground and all of the puppies are doing very well in their respective homes, primarily herding and agility.
Ember and Glen are both high drive dogs with great work ethic, commitment to their "job" no matter what is going on or who's around, a ton of versatility and the sweetest affectionate temperaments.😙

Our puppies are 8 weeks old today 🥹🫶

They’ll be 8 weeks old and ready to go in just a couple of days. OMG! 🥹 I’m tearing up. They grow sooo fast.

Yesterday we had their first vet visit, with full check ups and vaccinations. They were angels! Totally happy to be there, traveled well the way there and back which is an hour drive.
The vet and techs were blown away by how well mannered the babies were, which is feedback I love to get! They also all have perfect health.
