💡BEAUTY FOR ASHES EMOTIONAL HEALING DEVOTIONAL💡
📝Pastor Grace Henshaw
THERE IS A MESSAGE FOR YOU
Scripture
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.” Luke 1:30 (KJV)
Sometimes healing means becoming willing to hear something new after life has repeatedly told you something painful.
👉Rejection may have told you, “You are not wanted.”
👉Failure may have told you, “You cannot succeed.”
👉Loss may have told you, “Nothing good will remain.”
👉Betrayal may have told you, "You are not good enough."
But Mary's encounter with the angel brought an announcement that contradicted everything she could have imagined for herself.
🌞God had a message for her.
And sometimes, before God changes your circumstances, He changes what you hear, the messages you have been believing about yourself. He makes you begin to hear something different.
Mary's announcement came unexpectedly. She was young, ordinary and probably unaware of the magnitude of what God was about to do through her.
But heaven called her “highly favoured.”
Her circumstances did not look particularly extraordinary at that moment. Yet God's perspective was different from hers.
Gideon was afraid and hid himself but God him a mighty man of valour. Judges 6
✨✨This is a beautiful reminder:
Your current circumstances may not accurately describe your future.
God may be writing a story you cannot yet see.
🫒HEALING TRUTH
Be careful what you allow your wounds to announce about you.
📌Your past can say, “You will always be this way.”
God can say, “You are becoming new.”
📌Your experience can say, “Don't trust anyone.”
God can say, “I am teaching you wisdom and discernment.”
📌Your disappointment can say, “There is nothing ahead.”
God can say, “I know the thoughts that I think toward you.”
✅Healing involves learning to recognize God's voice above the voice of your wounds.
🔎REFLECTION
👉What message has your pain repeatedly spoken to you?
👉Now find out what God's Word says instead.
🙏PRAYER POINTS
1. My Father, help me hear Your truth above every negative message created by my past. John 10:27
2. Today, I silence every lie that has shaped the way I see myself in the name of Jesus. John 8:32
3. I remind myself today of who I truly am in Christ Jesus. (Mention as many as you can remember). Psalm 139:14
🫒TODAY'S HEALING ACTION
Write down one negative statement your wound has taught you to believe.
Then find a Scripture that contradicts it.
Read that Scripture aloud several times today.
Let God's Word have the final word.
💪AFFIRMATION
I will not allow my wounds to define me.
I choose God's truth over my fears.
I am who God says I am.
My past does not have the final word.
I am open to hearing God's message for my life.
I receive His truth, His direction and His purpose.
