Myths about HIV. prevention and treatment in three Nigeria languages Part2
Yoruba:
- "Aarun naa ko ni oogun, ko si ni to le gba" (HIV ko ni oogun, ko si ni to le gba) - "There's no cure for HIV, but treatment can manage it."
- "Ko ni HIV ni o ba mi se nitori wipe mo ti je eniyan rere" - "You can't get HIV just because you're a good person."
- "Lilo condom ni o dinku iye awon ti o ni arun naa" - "Using condoms reduces the risk of getting HIV."

*Igbo:*
- "HIV abughi njedebe" - "HIV is not a death sentence."
- "Iji condom emeputa ihe ize" - "Using condoms reduces the risk of transmission."
- "Ogwus ogwu adighi, ma enwere ogwu ndudi" - "There's no cure, but treatment is available."

*Hausa:*
- "AIDS ba cutar mutu ba ce, amma akwai magiya" - "AIDS is not a death sentence, there is treatment."
- "Kiyaya condom yana rage kamuwa da HIV" - "Using condoms reduces the risk of getting HIV."
- "HIV ba ya yadu ta hanyar sumbunta" - "HIV is not spread through kissing."

*English:*
- "HIV is a manageable chronic condition, not a death sentence."
- "Using condoms and PrEP can significantly reduce HIV transmission risk."

HIV/AIDS
In Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa:
Part 1

1. Yoruba:
- "AIDS jẹ arun ti o maa pa gbogbo eniyan" (AIDS is a disease that kills everyone) - Fact: HIV is a manageable condition with treatment.
- "Ko si oogun fun AIDS" (There's no cure for AIDS) - Fact: While there's no cure, antiretroviral therapy (ART) can manage the virus.
- "HIV jẹ ibẹjẹ" (HIV is a curse) - Fact: HIV is a medical condition, not a curse.

2. Igbo:
- "Ọnwụnwa AIDS ga-eji were mmụ mmụ" (AIDS will kill you quickly) - Fact: With treatment, people with HIV can live long, healthy lives.
- "AIDS bụ ọrịa ndị mmụ na-ebute" (AIDS is a disease caused by spirits) - Fact: HIV is transmitted through human contact, not spirits.
- "Ọ dịghị ọgwụgwọ maka AIDS" (There's no treatment for AIDS) - Fact: ART can manage the virus.

3. Hausa:
- "AIDS cuta ce ta Allah" (AIDS is a disease from God) - Fact: HIV is a medical condition, not a punishment.
- "Kowa ya samu AIDS zai mutu" (Whoever gets AIDS will Pai) - Fact: With treatment, people with HIV can live long lives.
