The Girl Who Refused to Go to School
A young girl named Amina lived in a small village with her parents. Every morning, children happily walked to school carrying their bags and books. But Amina always refused to go.
“I don’t want to go to school,” she would say stubbornly. “School is boring.”
Her mother advised her gently. “Education will help you become successful in the future.”
But Amina never listened. While other children studied in class, she stayed at home playing and wandering around the village.
Years passed. Her friends learned how to read and write. Some became teachers, nurses, and business owners. But Amina could not even read simple signs or write her own name properly.
One day, Amina went to the market to buy food. The shopkeeper gave her the wrong change, but she could not count the money correctly. She returned home feeling ashamed.
That evening, she watched her younger brother reading a storybook fluently. Tears filled her eyes.
“I wish I had gone to school,” she said sadly.
From that day, Amina decided to change her life. Even though she was older, she joined evening classes and worked very hard. Gradually, she learned to read and write.
In the end, Amina discovered that education is a key that opens the door to knowledge, confidence, and a better future.
Moral Lesson
Education is important, and it is never too late to learn.
