🩺 Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD): Don't Ignore

That Burning Stomach Pain!
Many people think every stomach pain is caused by "too much acid," but that's not always true.
Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD) is a sore that develops in the lining of the stomach or the first part of the small intestine. It is commonly caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection or frequent use of painkillers like ibuprofen, diclofenac, and aspirin.
Common symptoms include:
✅ Burning pain in the upper abdomen
✅ Bloating
✅ Nausea
✅ Heartburn
✅ Pain that may get better or worse after eating
Protect yourself by:
✔️ Avoiding unnecessary use of painkillers
✔️ Not smoking
✔️ Limiting alcohol
✔️ Seeking medical attention if stomach pain persists

🚨 Seek urgent medical care immediately if you vomit blood, pass black stools, or have severe abdominal pain.
Your stomach deserves care. Don't ignore persistent symptoms—early diagnosis and treatment can prevent serious complications.

Good Morning, Family! ☀️🩺As a nurse, I see many people waiting until they are severely ill before visiting the clinic. Today, let’s talk about prevention. Education is the best medicine! Here are three critical health indicators you should know and monitor:Blood Pressure (BP): A normal reading is generally around 120/80 mmHg. High blood pressure is a "silent killer" because it rarely shows symptoms early on. Get it checked regularly.Fast Blood Sugar: Knowing your numbers helps prevent Type 2 Diabetes. A normal fasting blood sugar level is typically under 100 mg/dL.Hydration Status: Check your urine color. Clear or pale yellow means you are well-hydrated. Dark yellow means your kidneys are working too hard—drink water immediately.Your Nurse's Homework for Today:Do not wait for pain to visit a healthcare professional. Call or visit a local clinic this week to get your routine checks done. Knowledge is power, and early detection saves lives! What is one health topic you want me to explain in my next post? Caesarean Section (CS): A Life-Saving Choice, Not a Failure

In many homes, decisions about a woman’s health are still controlled by others—especially husbands or family members. But when it comes to childbirth, delay or refusal of care can cost lives.
A Caesarean Section (CS) is not a sign of weakness. It is a medical intervention used to save the life of the mother, the baby, or both when normal delivery becomes risky.
There was a case of a pregnant woman in labor with complications. The doctors advised an urgent CS to save her life. Sadly, her husband refused to sign the consent form, believing she must deliver “naturally.”
As time passed, her condition worsened.

This situation raises an important truth:
👉 A woman should have the right to consent to life-saving treatment for herself.
When emergencies happen:
Excessive bleeding
Baby in distress
Obstructed labor
High blood pressure complications

A CS can be the difference between life and death.

Key Message:
CS is not a curse or failure
It is a safe and necessary medical procedure when indicated
Delays in decision-making can lead to loss of mother and baby
Women should be empowered to make decisions about their own health

Call to Action:
Men: Support your wives. Your role is to protect life, not risk it
Families: Trust trained health professionals
Women: Speak up for your health—your life matters
