WHAT I WISH SOMEONE HAD TOLD ME BEFORE MY FIRST DELIVERY… EVERY FIRST TIME MAMA NEEDS TO READ THIS 🏥😢❤️
Mama, you are pregnant with your first baby.
You are excited.
You are nervous.
You have watched videos.
Read books.
Asked questions.
And yet…
Nothing. NOTHING.
Fully prepares you for what happens in that delivery room. 😢
Today I am going to tell you what nobody told me.
What nobody told millions of first time mamas.
The raw. The real. The honest truth. ❤️
Because you deserve to walk into that room KNOWING. 💪
💬 I WISH SOMEONE TOLD ME…
😢 "Labor does not always start the way you expect."
Some mamas wait for dramatic contractions like in the movies.
But for many - it starts as a dull backache.
Or period-like cramps that come and go.
Or just a feeling that something is different today.
Know the signs. Don't wait until it is too late to leave for the hospital.
😢 "The pain is real. But so is your strength."
Nobody can fully prepare you for labor pain.
It is unlike anything you have ever felt.
But mama - millions of women before you felt that exact pain.
And they survived.
And so will you. 💪
Your body was literally designed for this moment.
😢 "You may p**p during pushing. And that is completely normal."
Yes mama. It happens.
To almost every mama who pushes.
Your medical team has seen it a thousand times.
They will clean it quietly without making you feel embarrãssed.
Do NOT be so afraid of this that you hold back your pushing. 🙏
Your baby needs you to push with everything you have.
😢 "You may shake uncontrollably after delivery."
Your whole body may tremble violently right after birth.
It is not a seizure.
It is not something going wrong.
It is your body releasing the enormous physical and hormonal experience it just went through.
It stops on its own. ✔️
😢 "The placenta delivery is not over when your baby comes out."
After your baby is born… you still have to deliver the placenta.
One more push.
It is much easier than delivering your baby.
But nobody tells you it is coming. 😂
😢 "Your first shower after delivery may make you feel dizzy."
Standing up too fast after delivery can cause dizziness and fainting.
Always call a nurse before your first time standing or walking.
Never try to go to the bathroom alone in the first hours.
😢 "The first time you urinate after delivery will sting terribly."
Especially after normal delivery or stitches.
Pour warm water over yourself as you urinate - it helps.
Drink plenty of water so urine is diluted and less painful. ✔️
😢 "You may not feel instant overwhelming love immediately."
And that is okay. 💔
Some mamas cry tears of joy the moment they see their baby.
Others feel shock. Numbness. Exhaustion.
And the love grows slowly over days and weeks.
BOTH experiences are normal.
BOTH make you a good mama. ❤️
😢 "Your baby may not look like what you imagined."
Newborns are often cone headed from the birth canal.
Covered in white vernix.
Swollen faced.
Blotchy skinned.
And absolutely perfect. 😂❤️
They become more beautiful every single day.
😢 "The emotional crash after delivery is real."
Day 3 to 5 after delivery many mamas suddenly cry for no reason.
Feel overwhelmed.
Feel like they cannot do this.
This is called baby blues - caused by sudden hormone drop after delivery.
It is normal and usually passes within 2 weeks. ✔️
If it lasts longer or gets worse - please tell your doctor. 🙏
😢 "You will forget the pain."
Mama I promise you this.
The moment they place that baby on your chest…
Something happens in your brain.
The pain fades.
And all you feel is love. ❤️
To every first time mama reading this… 👇
You are about to do the most powerful thing a human body can do. 💪
You are about to become someone's whole world.
You are about to meet the person you have been talking to through your belly for months.
You are ready.
Even when you don't feel ready.
You are ready. 🙏
Walk into that delivery room knowing…
That on the other side of the hardest moments of your life…
Is the greatest love you will ever know. ❤️
