The true way our ancestors made rituals manifest abundance was through sharing with others and cultivating the Earth. 🌏✨
This is the foundation of Ifá wisdom: abundance is not isolated, it is circulated.
What’s Ẹbọ?
Ẹbọ simply means “to feed” in Yorùbá.
In the Ifá tradition, it refers to offerings made to align one’s Orí (destiny) and the ancestral forces, the Irúnmọlẹ̀, in order to bring positive change into a seeker’s life.
But Ifá goes deeper.
When we have made ẹbọ to Orí and the Irúnmọlẹ̀, yet still do not see the Ire (goodness) we seek, Ifá teaches another principle — the king of Ẹbọ: Olúbọbọtiribọ.
Who, and what, is Olúbọbọtiribọ?
It is the spiritual principle of feeding the mouths of the multitude.
The idea is simple, but powerful:
When you feed a mouth, it speaks good of you.
When you feed many mouths, many speak good of you.
This is the law of spiritual reciprocity and attraction — life responds to how you treat others.
Ifá is teaching that we honor ourselves when we honor others.
Imagine a world where we all committed to making life easier for one another.
Would there still be scarcity of peace?
Would abundance not begin to flow naturally among us?
This is how Ẹbọ yields results — through human kindness in motion and harmony with nature.
A core instruction from Ifá says:
“Ká ra ń lẹ̀, ẹbọ ń ṣíṣe.” — Rise and make your sacrifice.
Another ancient expression says:
Take care of the Earth, and your sacrifice is made.
Because it is the Earth that produces all abundance.
We work upon the Earth, we interact with people of the Earth, and through this engagement, life becomes visible and fruitful.
The pursuit of life, at its root, is happiness.
The ancestors understood this.
When their efforts, struggles, and sacrifices produced results, they did not only gain wealth — they rejoiced:
“Ní wá ń jó, ní ń yọ̀.” — Then we dance, then we rejoice.
Ifá is also rooted in gratitude.
When we receive blessings, we acknowledge the chain of wisdom and life:
The seeker honors the Babaláwo.
The Babaláwo honors Ifá.
Ifá honors Olódùmarè.
Why do we consult Ifá?
We consult when we are confused, sick, or seeking direction.
And what should Ifá bring?
Clarity. Healing. Peace. Bliss.
Now pause and reflect:
If your spiritual path is not bringing you closer to clarity, healing, peace, guidance to prosperity — why do you keep returning?
