What I Wish Every Young Woman Knew Before Turning 30
There are mistakes that cost money.
There are mistakes that cost opportunities.
And then there are mistakes that quietly steal years of your life.
If I could speak to every woman in her twenties, this is what I would tell her.
Stop believing you have all the time in the world.
One day you’ll wake up and realize that the years you thought you had are behind you. The habits you ignore today become the life you live tomorrow.
Who you become matters more than what you achieve.
A degree is valuable, a good job is important but your character, discipline, mindset, and ability to lead yourself will determine how far those achievements take you.
Don’t build a beautiful life on a weak foundation.
Before chasing titles, followers, or applause, build wisdom. Build competence. Build emotional maturity. Build financial discipline. Build integrity.
The things no one applauds are often the things that sustain your future.
The people around you will shape your life.
Your circle can either normalize excuses or challenge you to become better.
Choose friends and mentors who stretch your thinking, not people who make you comfortable with staying the same.
Invest in yourself long before life demands it.
Don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed to learn productivity.
Don’t wait until you’re broke to understand money.
Don’t wait until you’re leading people to develop leadership.
Prepare before the opportunity arrives.
And above all…
Don’t spend your twenties trying to look successful. Spend them becoming the kind of woman success can trust.
Because turning 30 doesn’t automatically make you wiser.
The decisions you make before then do.
What’s one lesson you learned in your twenties that every younger woman needs to hear?
