General Hospitals in Sokoto have now become a cornerstone for delivering excellent healthcare services to humanity.This transformation is largely due to the total renovation and upgrading of General Hospitals across the state by His Excellency, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, FCIT, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State The massive investment in infrastructure, equipment, and staffing has repositioned our hospitals to compete with renowned and classical hospitals within the country.
In his speech to the press after an inspection visit to General Hospitals in
Illela, Gwadabawa, and Kware Local Government Areas the Executive Director of the Hospital Services Management Board,HSMB Dr. Bello Abubakar Attahiru said the turnout of patients and staff was highly impressive and a clear testimony of good healthcare service delivery.
To this end, he called on the general public to be law-abiding and to adhere to hospital instructions, describing it as the only way to contribute to the continued success of the health sector.
Dr. Attahiru also urged staff to be at their duty posts. He stated that the Board will only recognize punctual workers as genuine staff, and warned that, anyone with a habit of absenteeism must be punish in accordance with civil service act.
During the inspection, he also interacted with patients to get firsthand feedback on how services were being rendered. He assured them that the Board would take immediate action on any challenges identified.
In their remarks, Dr. Lawal Olatunde, speaking on behalf of the Principal Medical Officers, PMOs, of the hospitals visited appreciated the Executive Director and his entourage for taking out time to visit the facilities.
He noted that the visible improvements in performance being recorded in the hospitals are the direct result of balanced and good leadership.
Dr. Olatunde assured the Board of the PMOs commitment to comply with all observations and suggestions made during the inspection for the continued progress of the hospitals.
