Few days ago.. I started writing on skills health care professionals can jump on and monetise it and today is content creation. If you haven’t seen my post on virtual assistant (VA) go read it.

You can actually become a content creator as a healthcare professional and earn from your knowledge without leaving healthcare completely.

Most people think content creation is only for influencers.

It’s not.

As a nurse or healthcare worker, you already have something valuable:
• Medical knowledge
• Real-life experience
• Communication skills
• Trust and credibility

That already puts you ahead.

So how do you start and make money from it?

Step 1: Choose what to talk about

Start with what you already know
• Health tips
• Nursing lifestyle
• Wellness
• Medication awareness
• Student nurse advice
• Healthcare career tips

Step 2: Pick a platform

Use:
• TikTok
• Instagram
• Facebook
• YouTube
• LinkedIn

Your phone is enough to start.

Step 3: Position yourself properly

Don’t just say:
ā€œI’m a content creator.ā€

Say:
ā€œI help people understand healthcare in simple terms.ā€

Step 4: Post consistently

Share:
• Short videos
• Health tips
• Daily experiences
• Educational content

You don’t need perfection.
You need consistency.

Step 5: Monetise your content

You can earn through:
• Brand partnerships
• Paid promotions
• Affiliate marketing
• Digital products
• Coaching
• YouTube/Facebook monetisation

The more trust you build, the more opportunities come.

Your healthcare knowledge is valuable beyond the hospital walls.

You can actually make money from your laptop as a Virtual Assistant (VA) without leaving healthcare completely.

When people hear ā€œVirtual Assistantā€, they think it’s one big tech job.

It’s not.

A VA is simply someone who helps businesses, many of them healthcare-related with tasks they don’t have time to do.

And as a nurse or healthcare professional, you already have an advantage.

Because you understand medical terms, know how healthcare systems work, you are organised or at least trained to be, you can communicate professionally

That alone puts you ahead of many people.

So how do you actually start and make money from it? Let me break it down simply šŸ‘‡

Step 1: Decide what service you want to offer

Don’t overcomplicate it.

Start with what you already know.

As a nurse, you can offer:
-Email management
-Appointment scheduling
-Patient follow ups (non-clinical)
-Admin support for clinics
-Social media assistance for doctors/nurses
-Data entry / documentation

You don’t need to know everything.

Start with one or two services.

Step 2: Learn the basics

You don’t need a degree for this.

Just understand:
-How email systems work
-Google Docs / Excel basics
-Simple scheduling tools
-Communication etiquette

You can learn most of this in a few days online.

Step 3: Position yourself as a ā€œHealthcare VAā€

This is your advantage.

Don’t just say ā€œI’m a VAā€

Say:
-I help healthcare professionals manage their workload so they can focus on patients.

That one sentence alone will attract the right clients.

Step 4: Create a simple online presence

You can start with:
-page
-LinkedIn
-Even WhatsApp status

Post things like:
-I help busy nurses/doctors with admin tasksā€
-Tips about organisation
-Simple value posts

Let people know what you do.

Step 5: Start offering your service, even small

Your first client might come from, friends, colleagues, online communities.

Don’t wait to be perfect.

Start.

Experience matters more than perfection.

Step 6: Build trust and grow

Once you start, do your work well

That’s how people refer you.

And before you know it…
you’re earning consistently outside your nursing salary.

Happy New Monthā¤ļø

Let me say something that might sound strange to some people.

A nurse can be an entrepreneur and still be a very good nurse.

I’ve noticed this mindset a lot, both online and from conversations.

Once you say you’re a nurse and you’re doing something outside bedside, people start looking at you like, Why?ā€ Is nursing not enough?ā€ Are you leaving the profession?ā€

As if nursing is a cage you must stay inside forever.

That mindset is outdated.

Nursing is one of the most transferable professions in the world.

Think about it this way,
-You communicate daily
-You solve problems under pressure
-You educate patients
-You manage people, time, and emotions

And you think those skills are only useful inside the hospital? šŸ˜…

Some people find it odd because, they were taught that once you choose a profession, that’s all you should do, they don’t understand how skills can be monetised outside traditional roles, they are used to survival mode, not expansion

So when they see a nurse doing more, it feels unfamiliar.

There is nothing wrong with building something for yourself alongside your nursing career.

In fact, for many people it brings, more income, more flexibility, more control over their time and less burnout.

And no, it doesn’t mean you hate nursing.

It simply means you’re thinking beyond one stream of income.

Now let’s talk options.

Things nurses can do from the comfort of their homes.

-Virtual Assistant (VA) – managing emails, scheduling, admin support and to honest, many healthcare professionals need this, go to LinkedIn and see for yourself.

-Health Content Creation – people are cashing out on social media, blogs, YouTube etc.

-Online Coaching / Mentorship – helping other nurses with relocation or career clarity..this is what I došŸ˜…šŸ˜…

-Medical Writing – you write articles, educational materials etc.

-Telehealth / Remote Nursing Roles

-Digital Products – eBooks, guides, templates

-Online Courses – teaching what you already know

-CV/LinkedIn Optimization Services for nurses

-Affiliate Marketing (health-related products/services)

-Podcasting / Speaking etc etc

The goal is not to leave bedside overnight.

The goal is to expand your options.

Because one day, you may want, more time with your kids, less physical stress, more financial stability

And you’ll be glad you didn’t put yourself in a box.

You can be a nurse and still build something powerful outside the hospital.

Both can exist.

If you want a detail step by step on how to cash out from the options above, type ā€œEntrepreneurā€ in the comment and share this post.

To that nurse, student nurse, aspiring nurse following me, if you have realise one thing… is that I don’t gate keep here. I share my mistake, lessons, career growth tips, migration brouhaha, parenting tips etc etc.

I am about to say something again as I see that the last time I shared a post was 3 days ago.

Now,

…some people are not ready for life abroad.

Yes, I said it.

Not everyone should relocate.

And not everyone that relocated should have.

I know the category I belong tošŸ˜…šŸ˜…

I say this not as an insult, but, reality.

Because relocation will expose you.

It will expose your discipline, mindset and planning methods.

Everything you’ve been managing in Nigeria quietly…
abroad will bring it out fully.

Let me explain.

If you’re already confused in Nigeria, no clear plan, just ā€œI want to leave this countryā€

There’s a high chance you’ll carry that same confusion abroad.

Only this time, there’s no NEPA to blame, no system is bad excuse, no family around to cushion things except for those asking for urgent 2k when salary drops.

It’s just you and your decisions and a whole new life ahead of you.

I’ve seen it happen.

Someone rushes the UK or any other country and realise that rent is not smiling, work is demanding and life is structured.

Then frustration starts.

Starting over is not beans.

A new country does not automatically give you a new life.

You will still need to wake up and work, think for yourself, manage your money, grow intentionally

Relocation will not fix lack of directionšŸ˜…šŸ˜… okay now, dey joke..if you don’t have sense, you don’t have.

It will only expose your senselessness faster.

This is why some people are thriving abroad and some are just surviving.

Same country, different mindset.

Relocating is a huge responsibility oo

I wish say I fit use VN explain this thing.

You will work, earn good morning, but, monthly expenditures will tell you welcome abroad.

Reduce your expectations, no too carry your expectations shoulder pad high before you jakpa.
