I watched the trending video of Nkubi and his wife, and something really stood out to me.
He was asked the most romantic thing he has done for his wife and before she could even say a word, he answered for her.
He said it’s “plenty” because he carried their baby sorom so she could sleep.
To him, that is romance.
To him, that is love.
But when his wife tried to express herself, you could tell her own idea of romance is different flowers, dates, intentional time, soft gestures…
And that’s where many marriages miss it.
👉 Love is not only about what you think is enough.
👉 It’s about what your partner actually feels and understands as love.
Holding the baby so your wife can rest is beautiful no doubt. That is support,That is partnership.
But romance? That depends on the person receiving it.
Some women feel loved through:
• Attention
• Gifts
• Quality time
• Words
• Thoughtful surprises
Not everything is “Western culture”Sometimes it’s simply emotional needs.
The mistake many people make in marriage is this:
❌ “This is what I do, so you should be happy.”
Instead of:
✅ “What makes YOU feel loved? Teach me.”
Marriage is not a one-man understanding. It is a place of learning, unlearning, and adjusting.and sometimes, the most romantic thing you can do is not even flowers or gifts…
👉 It is listening.
Let your partner speak.
Hear them.
Understand them.
Then love them in a way THEY recognize.
Because what you call love, may not be what they feel.
Let’s talk 👇
Do you think helping with the baby is enough to be called romance, or should men learn their partner’s love language?
