Today, we’re proud to share an important milestone for Pletly.

Research on Pletly has now been peer-reviewed and published in BMC Digital Health, a Springer Nature journal focused on digital innovation in healthcare.

The study, “Connecting care circles”, was conducted in collaboration with researchers at the University of Pennsylvania led by Dr. Heather Nuske and care provider Bancroft.

What makes this especially meaningful to us is that the findings reflect something we have believed from the beginning:

Technology in care should strengthen human relationships, not replace them.

The research showed improvements in communication, collaboration, engagement, and trust across the care circle, both for families and professional caregivers supporting people in the IDD and autism community.

This milestone is not just validation of a platform. It is validation of an approach rooted in empathy, collaboration, research, and real-world caregiving experiences.

Care is complex. People shouldn’t have to navigate it alone.

That was part of the conversation when Marius Mathisen and Geir Landsgård joined April Tessa DiPietro on The Listening Room podcast at Blue Light Music Program Studios.

We shared why Pletly exists, how it enables better communication and coordination around individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other cognitive challenges, and why that matters for both families and professional caregivers.

On June 11, our very own Frode W. Kjersem will join NewCourtland CEO Joe Duffey at the LeadingAge PA Annual Conference. Joe will participate in a CEO panel titled “Experiencing Innovation: Changing the Way We Age”, where he’ll highlight NewCourtland’s partnership with Pletly as a key example of how they are building a culture where every employee is an innovator, every resident is known personally, and every partnership promotes dignity, connection, and equity.
