There is a reason NSRC-trained counselors stand out. They don’t just carry a CTEVT affiliation certificateβ€”they carry confidence, clarity, and professional depth.

At NSRC, we go beyond textbooks. We train you to see what others miss, to listen without judgment, and to respond with precision and professionalism. This is where you move from simply learning mental health to practicing it with real skills, guided supervision, and a clear sense of purpose.

Through 160 hours of structured, real-world training, you will develop the presence, competence, and professional identity that define a true psychosocial counselor.
Seats are intentionally limitedβ€”not to create scarcity, but to ensure every trainee receives the focused guidance this profession demands.

Day 14 | Creative Interventions, Self-Care & Final Practicum 🎨🌱

Today participants explored creative psychosocial interventions through the Tree of Life technique, discovering new ways to facilitate emotional expression, resilience, and healing. This session also emphasized on the importance of stress management and self-care, reminding every counselor that caring for others begins with caring for themselves.
From learning core counseling skills to practicing them with confidence, this journey marks the beginning of a lifelong commitment to compassionate, ethical, and client-centered mental health support.

Day 13 | Mental Status Examination (MSE) & Case History Taking πŸ“

A strong assessment begins with careful observation, active listening, and meaningful conversations. On Day 9, our participants explored the foundations of psychosocial assessment by learning Mental Status Examination (MSE), understanding thought processes, conducting case history interviews, and documenting assessment findings accurately.
Through group discussions, mock interviews, paired practice, and case analysis, participants strengthened their ability to build rapport, gather relevant information, and perform ethical, person-centered assessments.

Today’s session focused on strengthening the essential skills of effective case managementβ€”from assessment and service planning to referral, follow-up, and case closure. Through practical exercises and discussions, participants enhanced their ability to ensure continuity of care, maintain accurate documentation, and make timely, ethical referrals.
Every well-managed case is a step toward better support, stronger recovery, and lasting impact. πŸ’™

Day 11: Documentation & Counseling Records πŸ“

Every meaningful counseling session deserves thoughtful documentation. Today, we explored the foundation of ethical and professional record-keeping from intake forms and informed consent to confidentiality, session notes, progress documentation, and the SOAP format.
Through hands-on exercises and case discussions, we strengthened our ability to document with clarity, accuracy, and compassion, ensuring every record reflects professionalism while safeguarding client trust and confidentiality.
"Good counseling creates change. Good documentation preserves itβ€”with integrity, accountability, and care." πŸ€πŸ“–βœ¨

Day 10: Psychological Assessment Tools

Before meaningful support can begin, we must first understand what a person is experiencing. It basically focused on building the knowledge and practical skills needed to ethically administer, score, and interpret psychological screening tools.
Through hands-on practice with instruments such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, DASS-21, PSS, WHO-5, and su***de risk screening, participants learned to distinguish screening from diagnosis, interpret assessment findings responsibly, and make informed decisions for intervention and referral. Because ethical assessment is not about labeling peopleβ€”it's about understanding their needs and connecting them with the right support.

Day 9: Facilitation & Group Management Skills

Before anyone can facilitate change in others, they must first learn how to create a space where people feel heard, valued, and encouraged to participate. This training specially focused on developing the confidence and competence to lead meaningful psychosocial education and training sessions.

Through interactive discussions, group activities, session planning, presentation practice, and peer facilitation, participants strengthened essential skills in communication, group dynamics, adult learning, and effective training delivery.
Because true facilitation isn't about having all the answersβ€”it's about guiding people toward discovering their own. πŸŒ±πŸ€πŸ“š

Day 8 | Relaxation & Therapeutic Techniques 🌿

Healing begins with a calm mind. Today, we explored practical techniques like deep breathing, grounding, mindfulness, butterfly hug, and safe place visualization.
It helps in equipping future counselors with tools to regulate emotions, reduce stress, and provide compassionate psychosocial support.
