Your kids are not ignoring you. You have become background noise.

And it is not their fault. It is how the brain works at that age.

The good news: one small shift in how you deliver an instruction changes everything. No more repeating yourself five times. No more raising your voice just to be heard.

Tonight, try the method in this video. Walk over. Get to their level. Eye contact first, then one clear instruction. That is it.

Parents who try this are usually stunned by how fast it works because it is not about being stricter. It is about being heard.

If the listening battle is wearing you out, send me the word CALM in a DM. I will show you how to turn it around at home this week.

To the parent being mum AND dad right now:
Nobody claps for the lunches made, the tantrums survived, the bedtime you handled alone again. So let me say it: you are doing something enormously hard, and doing it with love.
But hear this too. Running on empty is not a badge of honour. Your kids do not need a perfect parent. They need a supported one.
Ten years of working with families has taught me that the strongest thing a struggling parent ever does is say the words "I could use a hand with this."
If that is you, my inbox is open. Sometimes one conversation changes the whole season. πŸ’™

To the parent who has said through tears... "I have tried everything and
nothing calms him down."

Here is what is actually happening. In a full meltdown, your child's
thinking brain goes offline. That is why reasoning fails, rewards fail,
consequences fail. They cannot process any of it in that moment.

What they CAN feel is you. Calm is contagious. So is panic. Your child
borrows whichever one you are carrying.

So before you fix anything, take sixty seconds to steady yourself. You
become the calm they borrow.

And if you are past the point of doing this alone, message me the word CALM.
That is exactly what I help families with. πŸ’™

"I have tried everything and nothing calms him down."πŸ˜•
If you have said this through tears, this post is for you.
A child in full meltdown cannot hear reasoning, rewards or consequences. Their thinking brain is offline. What they can feel is your presence. Calm is contagious, but so is panic, and they catch whichever one you are carrying.
So the first step is never about fixing the child. It is about anchoring yourself for sixty seconds so you become the calm they borrow.
There is a way through this, and no, you have not tried everything yet, because you have been trying it alone.
Message me the word CALM and let us talk about what is really going on.

"I have told him a hundred times." Sound familiar?
Here is the truth nobody tells parents: kids do not ignore you because they are naughty. They tune out because instructions arrive as background noise, usually shouted from another room, usually while they are mid-game.
Try this instead tonight. Walk over. Get to eye level. Say their name, wait for their eyes, THEN give one short instruction. One, not three.
It feels slower. It is actually faster, because you say it once.
If listening battles are running your household,
message me the

word LISTEN

and I will send you my quick checklist, and we can chat about what is going on with your little one.

Life has no meaning without…..

A child who fears upsetting you will look obedient.

But they aren’t cooperating.

They are just managing your emotions.

When obedience is driven by fear, it forces a child to suppress who they are just to keep the peace.

So stop trying to build a child who obeys your every word.

Build a relationship so strong that they actually want to do what you say.

One relies on control.
The other relies on connection.

Choose the relationship.
Every time .
