A highly commended finalist CIO of the Year! Being recognised alongside some of New Zealand’s most respected organisations is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the work happening across Tāmaki Health under Sam’s leadership.

We’re incredibly grateful for the recognition and the kind words shared on the night. For us, it’s encouragement to keep growing, keep innovating and keep finding better ways to use technology to support our patients and make things easier and smoother for our teams.

A warm welcome to Manukau City Medical Centre and Mekala Medical Centre, who are joining the Tāmaki Health whānau! 💙

At the end of August, the two clinics will come together as Local Doctors Manukau.

Patients will continue to see the same trusted doctors, nurses and support teams they know, now with access to the wider Tāmaki Health network and services.

We’re incredibly proud to officially launch the Groov AI Health Coach pilot with Tāmaki Health, becoming the first primary care organisation in New Zealand to integrate AI Health Coaching into routine patient care.

This is more than new technology. It’s about giving people the right support at the right time, before, between and after appointments. Designed to complement clinicians, the AI Health Coach provides personalised, evidence based guidance that empowers patients to take small, meaningful steps towards better health.

A huge thank you to everyone across the Groov and Tāmaki Health teams who helped bring this vision to life. Your passion, collaboration and belief in doing healthcare differently made this possible.

We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to see the impact this has for patients and the future of primary care 🤝

Today was a really special day. We delivered hundreds of pairs of pyjamas, donated across our Auckland clinics, to the
Middlemore Foundation

What started as a simple idea turned into something truly special. Every pair of jammies represents a little extra comfort, warmth, and care for a child and their whānau during a difficult time.

A huge thank you to everyone across our clinics who donated a pair, encouraged their teammates to get involved, and helped make this possible. Your generosity will make a real difference.

A huge congratulations to our Chief Digital Officer, Sam Ranchhod, on being named a finalist for NZ CIO of the Year.

Sam has been instrumental in transforming the way we deliver healthcare at Tāmaki Health. From bringing 52 clinics together on a single patient management system to leading the adoption of AI across our organisation, his vision is helping create better experiences for both patients and our teams.

Today, innovations like AI clinical scribing, intelligent automation, and AI powered call centre support are reducing administration, improving access to care, and helping our clinicians spend more time where it matters most, with patients.
What makes Sam's leadership truly stand out is his unwavering focus on people.

Every digital innovation has one goal: to improve patient care, support our workforce, and build a stronger, more sustainable healthcare system for the future.

A couple of weeks ago, our Koru Programme alumni came together for an evening of connection, learning, and inspiration.

As part of the Learning Hub, the Koru Programme supports leaders across Tāmaki Health to grow, connect, and learn from one another long after completing the programme.

We were privileged to hear from Frances Valintine CNZM, who shared her insights on leadership, embracing change, and the opportunities AI presents for the future of work. Her message challenged us to be curious, adaptable, and ready to lead through change.

The evening also highlighted the power of connection, collaboration, and investing in our people.

Celebrating Samoan Language Week 🇼🇸

This week, we came together across our MSO and some of our clinics to celebrate Samoan Language Week, recognising the language, culture, and traditions that are such an important part of our communities.

Led by , our teams shared kai, stories, songs, and performances, with our Samoan colleagues generously sharing their culture and helping us learn more about the significance of keeping Gagana Samoa alive for future generations.

For many of our colleagues and patients, language is more than words. It is identity, connection, belonging, and a way of carrying culture from one generation to the next.

A heartfelt fa’afetai to everyone who took part, performed, and shared their knowledge with us. It was a wonderful reminder of the richness that Pacific cultures bring to our workplaces, clinics, and communities every day ❤️
