Today is World Mental Health Day. ๐Ÿ’œ

One conversation can change the course of someone's day, and sometimes, their life.

Every call to Lifeline is an opportunity for someone to feel heard, supported, and reminded that they are not alone. The impact of that support can extend far beyond the caller, reaching their whฤnau, friends, colleagues, and community.

A donation of $36 helps answer one call, ensuring someone has a place to turn when they need it most.

Donate today and help answer the next call. ๐Ÿ’œ

Lifeline Aotearoa generates an estimated $7.50 in social value for every $1 invested, as detailed in our new Social Return on Investment (SROI) report released today to mark World Mental Health Day (October 10).

Itโ€™s further estimated that Lifeline creates $14.73 million in social value every year across 49,399 answered calls and text conversations.

The numbers are a testament to the generosity of our community donors and the skill of our counsellors and volunteers โ€“ something we can all be proud of.

As we mark World Mental Health Day this October, we reflect on the vital role that timely, accessible support plays in our communities. ๐Ÿซถ

Every day, people reach out looking for someone to listen, understand, and help them through difficult moments. Behind every answered call is a person who chose to seek support and a trained counsellor ready to help.

By donating $36, you can help make these vital conversations possible and ensure people in crisis have somewhere to turn when they need it most.

Your support helps create hope, connection, and reassurance for those facing life's challenges.

Together, we can make sure no one has to face their struggles alone.

A heartfelt thank you to Valour for their support of Lifeline through a meaningful fundraising and awareness initiative. ๐Ÿ’œ

Through the sale of their custom tote bags, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Lifeline, and a community dance class dedicated to su***de awareness, they have helped raise both funds and awareness for mental health support.

Kirsten, the founder of Valour Projects shared:

"It's so lovely to see everyone come together, move, connect and share the space.

We chose to support Lifeline because we really believe in the importance of checking in on your people and creating more open conversations around mental health and su***de. Sometimes a class, a conversation, a hug or simply knowing someone is there can mean more than we realise."

These words reflect the power of connection and community. Every conversation, every act of support, and every opportunity to come together creates a ripple of change.

Thank you, Valour Projects, for helping create space for these important conversations and for supporting Lifeline's work.

You don't have to carry everything on your own. ๐Ÿ’œ

Life can feel heavy at times, but that doesn't mean you have to face it alone. Reaching out to a friend, whฤnau member, colleague, or trusted professional can help lighten the load.

Leaning on your support system isn't a sign of weakness. It's a reminder that we're all human, and sometimes we need a little help from those around us.

This year's theme, Changing the Narrative on Su***de, encourages us to challenge stigma, foster understanding, and create more open conversations around su***de and mental health.

A conversation, a check-in, a listening ear, or a call for support can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. When one person receives support, the impact often extends beyond them, reaching their whฤnau, friends, colleagues, and wider community.

When someone experiences a crisis, they're rarely the only person affected.

The impact can ripple through families, friendships, workplaces, and communities. Behind every call for help is a network of people who care deeply about that person's well-being.

That's why your support is so important.
