As we head into spring and the warmer weather is heading our way, its a good time to reflect on the last 6 months of Mobile Ear Care mahi.
💚As time goes by and word spreads, my geographical zone to those who can't reach ear clinics for what ever reason widen.
💚1st visit to service an area South East of Auckland was kindly encouraged by a small but appreciative community in Kawakawa Bay-Orere Point which was wonderful.
💚The increasing number of repeat clients is becoming a thing = trust and loyalty.
💚The number of villages/care homes/memory support centres I have visited since I started, has grown to 83!
💚Referrals to me are very well supported by audiologists around the wider Auckland City.
I cannot thank them enough 🥰
💚 The travel is a time consuming factor in my work but necessary. Areas of Auckland are now covered on certain days of the week. Not necessarily set days..1st booking determines my direction. This ensures I can reach clients in a better time frame.
💚I have so much to thank for the repeated 3-6/12 group bookings some villages are on board with.
💚I am eternally grateful for the feedback I get, it strengthens my resolve to offer kind, gentle, professional service.
💚I continue to support the chain of care by providing an alternative to the clinic visit and that is appreciated immensely by clinic nurses who have me to suppy the missing mobile link.
💚Attending the annual Ear Nurse conference to allow great networking and gaining new knowledge was very beneficial.

12 months of official clients booked and I have been to 66 different retirement villages around Auckland, Rodney, and Whangerei.
So many more to crack!
Its tricky to break through the mindset of some establishments and some days I'll persevere a bit more or get in via a private client.
Some dont want to know. Isn't that a shame? Why would a older adult establishment not want their residents to get this service or are least have the option.
Having said that I'm so grateful for the many many ones I have access to on a regular basis and the kind hardworking staff that do go the extra mile.
If you have anyone who needs my service or know others who have elderly parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Partners that would like a professional RN Ear Cleaning in their own home, Unit or Hospital bed please do pass this on .

An organised family member preparing their mum or dad for my arrival. Its very helpful.
Often I arrive to a client in a village setting mostly and the resident has forgotten I'm coming. They are always told but don't always remember. I like to arrive knowing I'm expected but its not always the way even if they have been informed.
The care of the family in these moments shows at least if they can't be there, they are keeping their health needs up to date. 💚
I'm out here helping the families who are so relieved to not have to go through the stress of a clinic visit.

BONUS: Having the client so happy to see me and then waving out the window as I drive away. Bless 🤗

I've had couple of busy weeks giving presentations to two large Retirement Villages on the lovely North Shore plus 3 Village run Health Expos in Howick, Henderson and Glenfield. This gives me greater exposure and connection to residents who will benefit from my mobile service.
I have met so many lovely people and feel welcomed where ever I go.
Bookings come from this but just as important is the pleasure of changing people's health and well-being by reducing the stress of having to go out for their ear care.

2026 update:
I've been busy traveling across Tamaki Makaurau from Rodney to South Auckland with Northwest, West and Central thrown in.
I have some regular clients who require a clean every 3-6/12. Most commonly once a yr is enough but there are a few who require more frequent visits.
I have been privileged to share and explain the benefits of my service to villages in the form of a presentation on the North Shore and an Expo out in Howick.
I continue to follow my purpose of reaching those who cannot get out to clinics and services for professional ear cleaning.
My service covers private homes, public hospitals, Retirement villages including care centres and dementia units. I have a regular group in a supported living environment i see 6/12 and they really appreciate that i can come to them.
Its a huge effort for people who are unwell, disabled, elderly to get transport, staff availability, access issues in clinics, time constraints and family availability.
I love being able to turn up and care for ears in a very safe environment using my skill and professionalism. I love the feedback I get and I certainly back my ability to help change the ways blocked ears can make you feel.

I am so lucky. Im meeting so many lovely people out there during my private home and retirement village visits.
My oldest customer this week an is a wonderful lady aged 106! 😀
There are so many people needing ear care in their place of residence who no longer can get out and about easily.
Each week I am going into a new care home and seeing elderly residents who get brought along to a room I'm set up in, to care for their ears. So many great outcomes. The instant realisation that can hear again is a mutual reward for us both, not to mention the staff and family members all have struggled to communicate with a resident with blocked ears.
This week I want to thank the amazing staff working in Audiology clinics around Auckland who have passed on my details or referred their clients to me, so together we can help them hear better. Much appreciated 👏🏼.
Coming up to xmas i still have plenty of appointments available out on the road. Make sure you and your loved ones can hear the jingle bells and can join in the family gatherings.

I am so lucky be able to visit some beautiful small care homes for the elderly. This one in Parakai is a gem.

If you have an elderly relative who can't get out, let me come and care for their ears. No reason even to leave their cosy room. No waiting and paying for an Uber, waiting for busy family members, or going out in the rain!
