Venus and Jupiter conjunct in Cancer

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, paired with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, abundance, and learning, moving through Cancer, the sign associated with home, whānau, ancestry, nurturing, and protection, represents:

🌿 A time associated with nurturing relationships and strengthening emotional connections.

🌿 An invitation to focus on home, whānau, belonging, and what truly nourishes the heart.

🌿 A period linked with generosity, compassion, gratitude, and emotional growth.

🌿 An opportunity to reflect on how we give and receive aroha in our lives.

🌿 A reminder that abundance is not only material, but also found in connection, wellbeing, and meaningful relationships.

Matariki season is approaching — a time of reflection, preparation, and planting intention for the cycle ahead.

May this be a season that brings grounded energy into your whare, your whānau, and your māra.

Hei āpōpō.

🌿 Akiaki Te Tii o Te Tinana 🌿

Before wananga an because we stayed with friends Merv and Melissa in Otautahi.
So very greatful. 🪽🪽
Id like to share a snippet here of one of our mornings, the last morning..

Uruhā invites us to slow down, reconnect, and return to the present moment through the power of breath and patu.

The patu was once a weapon used in war, is now an instrument of healing the wars within through conscious action and breath.

As we breathe with intention, the body can begin to release tension held through stress, pressure, and the demands of daily life.

It is an opportunity to strengthen the connection with our bodies, listen to their wisdom, and support balance from within.

✨ Release tension.
✨ Deepen your breath.
✨ Awaken your body's natural vitality.
✨ Ground yourself in the present moment.
✨ Reconnect with your mauri.

When we breathe, we thrive. When we move, we thrive. When we connect, we thrive. 🌿💨✨

Purea after Wānanga 🦋🦋🦋
Purea after Anything and Everything!!

Purea is the cleansing and settling after deep wānanga. It allows us to release what was stirred, integrate the mātauranga received, and return to balance in our own mauri.

Through karakia, wai, kai, rest, and connection, we ground ourselves and allow the teachings to settle within.
It is not about forgetting — it is about making space for clarity, peace, and renewal.

Thank you Otautahi 😊 🙏

Honored to receive our Tohu mō te Haputanga Wānanga at 38 weeks pregnant, whānau! Saturday through Monday, and today I am 39 weeks. 👑🦋🎊

A huge mihi to Te Arateatea Hauora, Nga Mihi Kia Papa Hohepa Delamare, who's direct teachings are passed down to our kaiwhakaako Ruatau Perez for sharing these precious taonga.

I liked that saying I heard over these days "The wananga chose the tauira!

I am especially grateful to my husband for walking this journey beside me. His gifts with te reo, communication, and connecting with people complemented my own strengths, and together we gave our all throughout the wānanga.

Greatful for meeting powerful people in this wā. 👑👑

We explored indigenous birthing practices, tikanga, values, and mātauranga that many whānau are now reclaiming after generations of disruption through colonisation and the Tohunga Suppression Act. We learned mirimiri and romiromi for hapū māmā, and gained beautiful tools to support wāhine through pregnancy and even conception journeys.

One of the most inspiring lessons was seeing how birth was traditionally understood as a whānau-centred experience. Not doctors and machines but Partners, fathers, mothers, aunties, grandparents, and the wider whānau all had important roles in supporting hapū māmā and pēpi.
This brought a humbling light to the men's roles and well before Patriachy times the men where big nurturers for their women.

The greatest lesson for me was remembering that birth is not something to fear. Nor should my intuition be overwhelmed by medical advice or narratives, that just dont fit our values.

While modern medicine has an important place when needed, there is also value in rebuilding trust in ourselves, our bodies, our intuition, our tikanga, and our whānau support systems.

I am excited to one day return to mahi and awhi wāhine on the journeys they are already walking.
Those wanting to conceive also.
Those in grief..
Would be so honored to hold that space ✨️

He taonga tuku iho. A gift passed down through the generations.

Learning on Ngai Tahu Grounds isn't that so cool 😎
No more traveling for me 😌 well, for a bit..

“Ko te reo te manawa o te iwi,
mā te kotahitanga ka ora ai.
E tū ngā tāne atawhai,
hei pou mō ngā uri whakatipu.”

The language is the heartbeat of the people,
through unity it lives.
Stand strong compassionate men,
as pillars for the generations to come.

“Tautoko to all the brothers who showed up for our reo classes last night. Massive appreciation to everyone stepping onto the reo journey together.

The wairua was strong, the kōrero was flowing, and it’s inspiring seeing our men reclaiming and strengthening te reo Māori. Mauri ora, brothers — this is just the beginning.”ka nui te aroha💜
