I'm an island boy, born in Apia being the capital of Samoa in the year 1980. A time where Samoa as an independent country in the world. Attended different schools (Samoan speaking and English speaking), I have been able to meet an array of different kinds of people also growing up in Samoa. My father, a degree holder from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch) was a huge inspiration to my upbringing as a young island boy growing up around and being involved with engineering design (in office loitering!) and also working on active construction sites (labouring). My father was one of the first local civil engineering consultants starting a civil engineering consultancy company called George Meredith and Associates (GMA Ltd) within the Apia township in the late 1970's which was to become a main local competitor in the engineering industry in Samoa competing with the likes of Fletcher Ltd and others alike for most part of 40 years providing engineering opportunities with the tacit knowledge for a group of local people who would one day be able to be as competitive as my father was on the market. I am opening up a new thought process that medicinal opportunities like this can be achieved with the right set of skills and also a degree of passion to push ongoing health benefits those should be aware in the first instance.
