TWISTING ISN'T THE PROBLEM -

⚠️THE PROBLEM IS WHERE YOU'RE TWISTING FROM⚠️

Your body is designed to turn. But when your feet stay planted and you repeatedly twist through your lower back—especially while leaning or reaching over a dog—that movement can add unnecessary strain across a full grooming day.

✅ Instead:

👣 Move your feet
↪️ Turn your feet, hips and shoulders together
🐕 Keep your chest facing the area you are working on

You do not need a big movement. A small step or pivot can help your whole body turn as one unit, rather than forcing the movement through your lumbar spine.

👣 Move your feet
🎯 Face the work
🛡️ Protect your back

Have you got low back pain after grooming?

Hours of leaning forward, reaching across the table and working in one position can leave your lower back feeling stiff and sore.

This quick extension-in-standing reset helps you move in the opposite direction:

Place your hands on your hips, keep your knees relaxed and gently lean backwards as far as feels comfortable. Return to upright and repeat up to 10 times.

Try it:

- Between dogs
- After a long grooming session
- Whenever your back starts to feel stiff

Keep the movement comfortable and controlled—do not force it or hold the position.

Stop if it causes new or worsening pain down your leg, numbness, tingling or weakness, and seek appropriate health advice.

Which groomer do you think is more likely to finish the day with upper-back pain—**Groomer A or Groomer B?**

Watch the video before you decide. 👀

When you repeatedly bend through your spine to reach a dog, those small strains can build up over a full grooming day.

Instead:

✓ Bring the dog closer
✓ Bend from your hips—not your spine
✓ Keep your spine long as you work

Small posture changes can make a big difference to how your body feels at the end of the day.

**Dog groomers — watch the video to see what head-down grooming can do to your neck.**

When you spend the day looking down at dogs, clippers, scissors, paws, coats and tables… your head slowly drifts forward.

And the further forward your head moves, the harder your neck has to work.

That can show up as:

✅ neck stiffness
✅ shoulder tightness
✅ headaches
✅ upper back tension
✅ aching after long grooming days
✅ that “heavy head” feeling by the end of the day

This is why GroomerReset always starts with the **neck first** before moving on to the shoulders.

Because sometimes what feels like a shoulder problem is actually being driven by the neck.

The good news?

You don’t need a full workout.
You don’t need fancy equipment.
You don’t need to stop grooming.

You need small, targeted resets built around the way groomers actually work.

Start noticing your posture today:

📍 Is your chin poking forward?
📍 Are your shoulders creeping up?
📍 Are you reaching across the table?
📍 Do you feel worse by the last dog of the day?

Your body is part of your business.
Protect it now, so you can keep grooming longer.

**Follow GroomerReset for practical body-saving tips for dog groomers.**

Comment **NECK** if your neck or shoulders feel this after grooming.

Sore shoulders after a day of grooming?

Drying. Brushing. Holding dogs. Reaching across the table.
It all adds up.

That ache across your shoulders or upper back is something many groomers quietly push through — but it should not be ignored.

This week’s GroomerReset is a simple Wall Angels reset to help improve shoulder movement, posture awareness and upper-back control.

It is quick, practical and easy to build into your day.

Try 10 slow reps in the morning and the end of the day.
Keep your back against the wall.
Keep your wrists as close to the wall as you comfortably can.
Stop if you feel sharp pain.

Your body is part of your business.
