Father’s Day was a special occasion across our Ambridge Rose facilities as we celebrated the wonderful dads, granddads, stepdads and father figures who have helped shape our lives! 💜💙

Residents enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with sweet treats, a glass of beer or wine (non-alcoholic, of course!) and plenty of music, dancing and laughter shared with family, friends and staff.

Thank you to all the father figures in our community for the love and wisdom you continue to share.

💛 Residents and staff across our facilities came together on Friday to support Daffodil Day, enjoying craft activities, shared morning teas, and of course, wearing plenty of yellow to mark the occasion.

Daffodil Day is a special opportunity to stand alongside those affected by cancer, acknowledge the strength of those currently on their journey, and remember loved ones who are no longer with us. 🌼

Throughout the day, we also raised funds and awareness for the incredible work of the Cancer Society New Zealand helping support vital cancer research, patient services and hope for future treatments and cures. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day so meaningful. 💛✨

We’re incredibly proud of our ongoing sponsorship of Youth Project NZ, and the important work they do in growing the next generation into leaders focused on community and service to our society.

On Saturday evening, Ambridge Rose Sales and Marketing Manager – Angela Pullar, was pleased to present three awards to youth doing wonderful things in our community - the Kindness Award, Intergenerational Award and Community Award.

During the awards evening, we were also treated to some wonderful performances from youth from the local colleges, including some beautiful singers and great band performances.

A warm congratulations to all nominees and winners and thank you again to our hosts for a wonderful evening. 💜

Yesterday, staff of a beautiful range of different cultures at The Manor came together to celebrate Multi-Cultural Day. To celebrate, staff were encouraged to wear cultural clothing, accessories, jerseys from their favourite regional sports team, or something else.

We were treated to some incredible traditional dances from our staff too! We watched our Filipino staff perform their traditional folk dance Pandanggo sa Ilaw, our Punjabi staff perform the Giddha and two of our Chinese staff members perform a classical Chinese dance performance and Kung Fu.

Best dressed awards went to Sylvia, Fatima and Subbu! 🏆

At Ambridge Rose, we’re proud of the diversity of our staff and the incredible people we have in our team, and our community is stronger and brighter together because of it.

Meet Kay, who has recently stepped into her new role at The Cottage as Nurse Manager/RN! 💜

Kay has been with the Ambridge Rose team since 2024. Her wonderful experience in hospital nursing, and her strong belief in delivering compassionate care for our residents makes her a wonderful person to have on the team, and a natural fit for her new role.

More than anything, she believes in giving her team everything they need to succeed.

Kay loves spending quality time with her daughter, getting outside to the beach or the park and enjoying a Mövenpick Swiss Chocolate ice cream.

A tribute from Allan

Today marks one year since we lost my beautiful wife, Linda.

Linda was an extraordinary woman - a loving wife, devoted mother to our three wonderful children, a proud grandmother to our four precious grandchildren, and my partner in every sense of the word.

Together we built Ambridge Rose with a simple vision: to create a place where older people would always be treated with compassion, dignity and respect. Those values were at the heart of everything Linda believed in and they continue to guide us every day.

While the past year has been incredibly difficult, I take comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through our family, through the wonderful team at Ambridge Rose, and through the lives of the many residents and families she helped over the years.

Linda will always be deeply loved, greatly missed, and never forgotten.

Happy Retirement, Jackie 💐

Saying goodbye to any member of the Ambridge Rose family is never easy, but farewelling someone as special as Jackie is especially hard.

Jackie joined Ambridge Rose in 2018 and has given eight years of dedicated service to our residents, families and team. After training as an Enrolled Nurse in Southland and moving to Auckland to pursue her nursing career, Jackie has spent an incredible 50 years as an Enrolled Nurse, caring for others with compassion, kindness and professionalism.

Throughout her time with us, Jackie’s warm, empathetic nature and unwavering commitment to resident care have made a lasting impact. She has been a treasured part of The Cottage and the wider Ambridge Rose community, and her presence will be deeply missed.

As Jackie prepares for her last day with us on Thursday 30 July, we want to thank her for everything she has contributed over the years.

Farewell, Jackie, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement. We wish you many wonderful years ahead spent with family, friends, and doing the things you love. With our heartfelt thanks and best wishes from all of us at Ambridge Rose. 💐
