Wild animal treatment! 🐇🤎

This poor bunny was in complete shock, frozen in terror after being attacked by a stoat. ‼️ I saw the bunny thrashing around as the stoat clung to their back, biting their head and neck. (In case you didn't know, stoats will attack rabbits much larger than them, by biting through the top of their spine, paralyzing and killing them).

When I stopped my car next to them, the stoat ran away, but the rabbit was completely stuck like this. And I couldn't leave them there like that, when the stoat was still nearby, and a hawk was circling overhead! 😬

Thankfully the actual bites weren't too severe, and there was only a small amount of blood. The rabbit wasn't paralysed by the injuries, but by the body's self-defensive "freeze" reaction to the threat.

I felt the weight and intensity of the rabbit's fear in their chest and head, and released as much pressure and shock from their skeleton as I could (without touching the open wounds). I also made sure that their limbs were mobile.

Bunny was still scared though, and still didn't run away, so I popped them in a box and took them to my friend's place to "unravel" and recover from the shock in a safe environment. Once in the box, the rabbit started to move, and when I let them out they hopped around.

They were released later that day in the same area, and ran off into the distance. 🐰🥰🤎✌️ xx
