The Natural Health Clinic

The Natural Health Clinic Stop chasing symptoms. At The Natural Health Clinic I use muscle testing to find the areas of weakness in the body.

If you’re tired, bloated, struggling with food sensitivities or hormones, let’s look for the underlying blocks that may be getting in the way of your health This is achieved by using muscle testing to perform a full body scan which includes all organs, glands, joints & any areas of pain by gently touching reflexes on the surface of the body. Through muscle testing we then identify which of these weakened areas is the priority to deal with & what could be the underlying cause of this weakness using the 6 most common stressors. What are the six most common stressors?

1) Food allergies
2) Immune challenges -fungal, viral, bacterial & parasites
3) Heavy metals
4) Chemical toxicity
5) Scars & other interference fields - these block energy flow
6) Nutritional deficiencies - the organ/gland is lacking nutrients for optimal functioning

Based on these findings we use muscle testing to design a individualised nutritional program using natural organic supplements & lifestyle changes. When the underlying causes are identified & removed the body is then more able to heal itself. Please look at my website for further information. https://biotrace.co.nz/

WHY I USE THE SUPPLEMENTS I USE 💙

The simple answer is: I know they work. ✨

The supplements I use have proven themselves over many years and with hundreds of people in my office to get great results.

I also want to know they’ve been properly tested, are free from unwanted contaminants, and actually contain what the label says they contain.

Unfortunately, with many supplements, this is not the case.

Two bottles can have the same herb written on the front, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting the same quality, or the same amount of the active part that actually does the job.😠

And when I’m trying to help someone improve their health, I need products I trust and that I know are going to do the job they’re there to do. 🩷

That’s why I tend to stick with the brands that have proven themselves over time. 💫

KNOW SOMEONE WHO’S STRUGGLING WITH THEIR HEALTH? 💙

One thing I really value is word-of-mouth referrals.

If you’re currently on a program with me, or you’ve worked with me before, and you know someone who is struggling with fatigue, bloating, digestive problems, food sensitivities, hormones, pain or low energy, you’re very welcome to refer them in.

I’ll happily offer them a complimentary initial consultation so we can talk about what’s been going on and see whether I may be able to help.

Why do I do this?

Because when someone comes through a personal recommendation, they usually already understand that we don’t just try to suppress symptoms and hope for the best.

We look for the underlying barriers that may be getting in the way of the body doing what it should be doing — functioning well, healing and feeling better.

That means they already have a better idea of what I do, what it’s like to work with me, and the sort of changes that may be involved.

I really value working with people who are ready to make changes and take an active role in improving their health.

And as a thank you for referring someone to me, I’ll also add a credit to your account towards your own care. 💫

➡️ If someone comes to mind, just ask them to mention your name when they contact the office.

IF YOUR CRAVINGS ARE THROUGH THE ROOF, CHECK YOUR PROTEIN 💙

One thing I see all the time in my office is this:

Someone tells me their sugar or carb cravings have gone mad, and when I look at what they’re eating, their protein has usually dropped away.

When the body is healing, it can use a lot of protein because protein gives us the building blocks for our organs, hormones, muscles and repair.

Breakfast might be toast, cereal, oats or fruit. Lunch can be something really healthy like a salad — but there’s hardly any protein in it. Then most of the protein arrives at dinner.

Once we bring the protein back up, those cravings often start to settle within a few days.

Protein keeps you fuller for longer, so you’re much less likely to be hunting through the cupboard for that packet of Tim Tams or snacking all afternoon. 😄

And when you’re fuller and snacking less, it can also make weight loss a lot easier.

➡️ An easy thing to try this week: at every meal, ask yourself, “Where’s the protein?”

Eggs, chicken, fish, beef, lamb, Greek yoghurt, cheese if dairy suits you, tofu if you tolerate it — whatever works for your body.

You don’t need to completely give up carbs. Just make sure you’ve got plenty of protein and low-starchy vegetables on your plate.

WHAT WORKED AT 30 MAY NOT WORK THE SAME WAY AT 50 💙

One thing many women miss through perimenopause and menopause is the effect of what they’re eating on their blood sugar.

Why do we care?

A large study found that post-menopausal women had a 42% higher glucose response after eating than pre-menopausal women.

So that same pasta, rice, potatoes, sourdough or dessert you seemed to get away with years ago can now create a much bigger blood sugar surge.

And that matters because it can make it much harder to get on top of things like:

strong cravings
mood swings and irritability
poor sleep
brain fog
weight around the middle
hot flushes and night sweats
feeling sore and inflamed

In other words, the food may not have changed — but the way your body handles it has.

By 2030, more than one billion women worldwide are expected to be post-menopausal.

That’s a lot of hot flushes. This alone could significantly impact global warming. 😄

The good news is there’s quite a bit we can do.

I’ve gone into this more in today’s newsletter, including one very simple thing you can start doing with your meals straight away.

LOW-CARB CHICKEN PARMESAN 💙

I made this the other night and it was so delicious everyone loved it — it was so good we’re having it again tonight. 😄

I also only had grated mozzarella rather than mozzarella balls, and that worked perfectly too.

Serves about 4

You’ll need:

650g chicken thighs - (I used about 900g)
2 eggs
80g grated Parmesan
2 tbsp Italian seasoning or mixed herbs
1 tbsp chopped parsley
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, crushed
450g crushed tomatoes ( I added 1/2 tsp Massell chicken stock powder)
1 tbsp dried oregano
salt and black pepper to taste
220g grated mozzarella or balls

➡️ Beat the eggs in one bowl.

Mix the Parmesan, parsley and mixed herbs in another bowl.

Dip the chicken thighs in the egg, then coat well in the Parmesan mixture.

Heat the olive oil and butter/ghee in a frying pan and cook the chicken until golden on both sides.

Remove the chicken, then add the garlic to the same pan, followed by the crushed tomatoes, stock powder if using, oregano, salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5–10 minutes.

Pour the tomato sauce into a baking dish, add the chicken, top with grated mozzarella and bake at 225°C for about 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the chicken is cooked through.

Serve with greens or a salad.

✨ Low carb and high protein.

The original Diet Doctor version is about 9g net carbs and 64g protein per serve.

Adapted from Diet Doctor’s Low Carb Chicken Parmesan.

QUICK & EASY SAUSAGE “LASAGNE” 💙

I made this the other night from a recipe in The Ultimate Fast 800 Recipe Book and it was quick, easy and everyone enjoyed it. My photo doesn't do it justice 😬

My version used:

6 good-quality sausages
2 onions, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tin chopped tomatoes
250g spinach
2 zucchini's, sliced lengthways
200g full-fat crème fraiche
40g grated Parmesan or other cheese
a little nutmeg
salt and pepper

➡️ Heat the oven to 200°C / 180°C fan.

Take the sausage meat out of the skins and cook it in a frying pan with the onion for about 8–10 minutes, breaking it up into little bits. Add the garlic and oregano, then stir in the chopped tomatoes and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Wilt the spinach in a separate pan, then squeeze out as much water as you can. This helps stop the lasagne becoming watery.

Spread the sausage mixture over the bottom of a baking dish. Lay the zucchini slices over the top, then add the spinach.

Mix a little nutmeg through the crème fraiche, spread it over the spinach, then sprinkle over the cheese.

Bake for around 20–25 minutes, until hot and lightly browned on top.

✨ Around 16g protein and 10g carbs per serve.

You could use mince instead if you prefer, but the sausages make it really quick.

Dairy-free? Use a thick unsweetened coconut yoghurt or coconut cream instead of crème fraiche, and a dairy-free cheese on top.

💚 Definitely one I’d make again.

Food can absolutely be part of the picture. But when I test people using Nutrition Response Testing, the body may show there are other things getting in the way as well. 💫

👉One of the common ones I see is chemical interference.

Every day we are exposed to many chemicals, such as:

➡️ Chlorine in water
➡️ Pesticides on food
➡️ Plastics from bottles and food containers
➡️ Chemicals in make-up and skincare
➡️ Perfume and fragranced products
➡️ Shampoo and hair treatments

When chemicals show up as a problem, we work on reducing exposure where we can and supporting the body to handle what is getting in the way. ✨

That is why I look at the whole picture — not only the food, but the other things that may be making it harder for your body to respond and function well. 💚

Did you know I didn’t set out to work in natural health?

Before I had children, I was a medical scientist and, in all honesty, I probably wouldn’t have been interested in any of this.

Then I had an autistic son who rarely slept, had food sensitivities and seemed uncomfortable much of the time.

We tried a lot of things that should have helped. Some did nothing. Some seemed to make him worse.

But I couldn't figure out, why does something help one person so much and make absolutely no difference to another?

That question eventually led me to Nutrition Response Testing — and completely changed the way I look at health.

I’ve written a little more about that story in this week’s newsletter. 💙

The biggest lesson for me? I stopped assuming what the body needed and started asking.

HOW CAN YOU BE EATING WELL AND STILL TEST AS MALNOURISHED?

This is something I hear from clients quite a lot.

They’re eating good quality protein, plenty of whole foods, not much junk, processed food or sugar… and yet when I evaluate them using Nutrition Response Testing, their body is still showing signs that it isn’t getting the nutrients it needs.

And they’ll say to me:

“But I eat really well.”

And often, I agree. Sometimes the food itself isn’t the problem.

The problem is - they may not be digesting and absorbing it properly.

If your digestive system isn’t breaking food down well, simply adding in more good food doesn’t necessarily help — because you still may not be extracting the goodness from it.

➡️ This is why digestion is such an important part of what I look at.

I often use specific digestive support to help strengthen the digestive system so the body can start using food — and supplements — more effectively. 💙

Which means your body is able to use the nutrition to heal and function better💗
