TWO MONTHS TO GO! Before we gather on the shores of Mōhua for this one of a kind event. If you’ve had your eye on it now is the time to book. And if finance was a barrier here’s a way we can dance an exchange and get you in here! We need two more folk to support simple on ground tasks throughout the retreat. With three volunteers we’ll be able to split the work load and you’ll hardly notice you lifted a finger ;) you’ll also get that particular joy that comes from aiding the flow of communal things. Usually these positions are for existing teachers only, but since we’re out here changing the flavour of these “trainings” we might as well break a few other “rules”! Get in touch for details.

And if you just want to be carried along on the ride we have just 3 beds left. One single and two dorm spaces.

Now that we’re soaked in this way of being in conversation with non-human nature and the mythic underbelly of our lives, both personal and collective-archetypal, we’re ready to venture again, deeper into the woods perhaps: to find the dreams that live and lurk in stages passed and those to come.

As Jung famously said, “until you make the unconscious conscious it will direct your life and you’ll call it fate.”

I can’t help it. There will be cynicism, but I say it all with great love. And forgiveness. And a passion for change. We (and I’m speaking to my settler descended sisters) have all been there. We can do better. And we must.

The Great Un.training is going ahead. We’ll look at ‘what happened to ‘Yoga’. And what are we really practicing when we go to a ‘yoga’ class. Where does the practice fit in the context of western modernity? Have we been going about it wrong? Is there something missing? Can we save the baby from the bath water or is it time to throw it all out because there is far too much CRINGE up in this yoga business now!!

There is something the old story’s speak of; the tussle to inhabit what it is we are. The treacherous journey to become what is already hidden in the seed of the thing, and blooming anyway. And then, the duty of the fruit to give itself away to the feast, plucked or fallen, rapidly devoured or savoured in the rot. The provocation is this; You are not here to become anything you like, (though it is true you ought to follow that which you do like) you are here to be something quite specific… “Everything being only this” … turning through anyway, but wanted in a very specific way by what it is that you already are and are becoming …

Thoughts. Poetry. Provocation. A bow to the seasons. To change. And you.

I have to remind myself the shops stay open, people keep selling bread and flowers and clothing here, even while the bombs are dropping.
When I open this app to advertise and I’m met with more horrific news I loose any remaining desire to share my work between the memes and the murder — But the shops are still selling coffee and muffins and cigarets. And the billboards on the highway blast their notice. Carry on.

How often I find myself trying to readjust how I use this thing and what I offer in such a noisy room.

I wish I could just sit with you, on the sand. Or by a river. Under a tree. Gaze at the stars. Exhale. Say very little. And something silly. And remember how vast and powerful life and time and justice is. And how delicate we are, and the grass touching our toes.

I have some ways we can gather this year for something of the like, for learning and unlearning, for respite. I guess I’ll keep the shop open, and keep telling you about those things, even while the bombs keep falling.
