As New Zealand’s leading disability equipment provider, and the team behind Firstport and EASIE Living & Demonstration Centre, it's important that these principles reflect what great service looks like to the disability community in Aotearoa.

Do you or someone you know have unused assistive equipment at home?

If it has an Enable New Zealand sticker, it was likely provided through us on behalf of DSS or ACC. When it’s no longer needed, we’ll collect it at no cost and prepare it for someone else who needs it.

We’ve been reading two new reports that offer really useful insight into disability in Aotearoa New Zealand, and why accessibility matters so much in everyday life.

Access Matters Aotearoa have released their 'Kōrero for Change - Insights and Actions Report'. This shares what disabled people, whānau, academics, and others say needs to change to remove access barriers across everyday life in NZ.

Stats NZ has released an overview of disability data in Aotearoa New Zealand. It brings together key information about disabled people’s experiences across areas like wellbeing and inclusion, participation in society, standard of living, and services and support.

A big thank you to everyone who came over to say hi to us at Show Your Ability 2026 👋

Over the last few weeks, our team has been out on the road at Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Christchurch, and Dunedin. It was great to meet so many people, answer questions, share information, and have some really good conversations along the way.

We loved hearing from disabled people, whānau, assessors, suppliers, and others from across the wider community. These events are always a great chance to connect face to face and hear more from you - what's important, what questions you have, what you expect from us.
