The practical application of Matthew 7:3-5: "Let me take the speck out of your eye, when all the time there is a plank in your own?" 👇
"...The shift began when I became aware of the ego, the 'voice of the enemy', the accuser of the brethren within my own mind. Whenever it pointed out the 'egoic behaviour' of others, the Holy Spirit would always remind me that to perceive error, I must first be looking through the darkened glass of the ego myself.
This is the mechanics of projection. The ego projects what the mind refuses to take responsibility for, attempting to blame another for the very thing the mind is doing.
By shifting the focus away from the world and off the backs of others back to my own mind, I can take responsibility for valuing the false filter in my own mind. On that mental level, I can then choose once more to overlook the error, choosing to value the voice of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit's purpose, through this interior forgiveness, allows one to experience a "miracle": a shift in perception from fear, annoyance, hate or ego to gratitude, love and unity in Christ. This shift from lack of love to His Love is, indeed, a miracle.
This is the true meaning of forgiveness. This is the essence of: 'How can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when all the time there is a plank in your own?' Matthew 7:3-5."
