Claudio Escutia of Xochipilli's Eye returns from pilgrimage in Mexico City with new songs, ancestral instruments and stories — bridging the ancient wisdom of Mexico and Native American traditions right here in Aotearoa.

At the heart of it sits a magnificent Pow Wow drum. A living, breathing heartbeat. Eight people at a time drum around it while the rest of us sing traditional call-and-response chants, and the whole room becomes one sound.

Then prehispanic flutes, rattles, rain sticks and ocarinas carry you inward — stillness or movement, whatever your body wants. We finish with a restorative shamanic sound relaxation.

No musical experience needed. None. Family friendly, all ages welcome.

Kia ora amigos, I have been building quietly a space for practice that I am calling Khandallah Shala.

It is a warm, sunny, simple and intentional place for the practice that can help us to recalibrate and maintain our precious health. Hatha, Flow, Gentle flow, Yin Restore and Sound Healing.

New mats, blankets, blocks and bolsters — all ready to go and included.

I am keeping the groups small max 10. So if you have been wanting slower, more personal way to practice in Khandallah, this might be it.
