My patients often tell me, “Doctor, it’s herbal, so it must be safe... right?”
Not necessarily.
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that anything labelled as “natural” or “herbal” is automatically good for your health. In reality, some herbal products have been linked to serious liver damage and other health complications.
Before taking any herbal medicine or supplement, take a moment to ask:
• What exactly does it contain?
• Is there scientific evidence supporting its use? • Is it safe for my specific condition?
Remember, “herbal” is not a guarantee of safety or effectiveness.
Always read the label, look for evidence, and make informed decisions about your health.
